well... the supposedly durable battery is good. and oleophobic coating on the screen is really cool, too. i wish more phones besides Apple's had that.
but those aside... i guess the review pretty much confirms the impression many people got. sadly, it seems to be an average flagship for an above average price. and if Sony really purposely held back some features here to make a higher-tier and even more expensive version later... brand loyalty should be rewarded, not exploited

Released very late with same specs as everyone else's phones. Disappointing battery life. Good luck on sale Sony.

hear we go.. galaxy is the best it comes to updates.. apple and samsung are the worst. dont buy samsung phones they copy galaxy.. galaxy s7 is the best.. samsung just copied them and made samsung s7.apple even worst.
so guys buy galaxy s7 dont buy iphones , samsung phones AND XPERIAS

nice work....sony has by far the worst display(of course i maen durability...they look awesome)
5inch calls for only 1080p thats alright but the excuse that largebezels are for the extra padding for waterproofing will not work anymore, s7 saw to that.., as such this looks like how a xperia z6 compact would have looked

Is it just me, or does it feel like Sony are holding back with the X range, where is the innovation? Where are the unique design features? Where is the performance the price tag suggests? These handsets are a tame, sideways step from last year's models, I hope they're saving the good stuff for a new flagship at the end of the year, but if not it is time for Sony to exit the high end market. I'm not saying that these are bad handsets, but they are overpriced in an overcrowded market and Sony are treating their loyal customers like idiots.

Y the battery life on this and HTC 10 is so poor? Mi5 With 3000 mah got 92 h of endurance. More than 150%.this phone is a joke, z5 is better than this.
The only thing that they can brag about is that fugly battery tech, which we can't verify coz it'll take 2 years lol.
We know Sony isn't all about cutting edge features, but come on, Apple have 4k now despite lagging for ages. And for the last question in article, no.

Sony, fire everyone in your staff who believes this, with your mediocre marketing shall have any impact. In fact to me Sony is dead. You nolonger command the premium you think you do mate.
The reviewer said it. Way more bang for buck with the S7. I even better off with the LG G4, if I bought it today at a third of the XP price.

I received my Sony xperia x performance today and am really enjoying this premium feel. I have not not noticed any lag whatsoever and very pleased with the front facing audio speakers.
I have the dual sim model and ordered it from Taiwan which means my finger print sensor is working great.
If paying a little more for this phone does not break your bank then it's a must have, I actually prefer it over the HTC 10 which I still own because of the design.

I'd go with the word 'bizzare' over the 'fake' imaging.
So simply speaking, Sony got stabbed multiple times by other companies using its own knives. This is a long and sad story in their camera department.

But faced with the choice between the OnePlus 3 or the X-P, I'd take the 3 in a heartbeat, then with the money I'd have saved, I'd go and buy a PS4, or Xbox One or a separated mid-range smartphone or something like that.
Seriously, considering the specs on offer, the price difference between those two is just ludicrous, can't wait for the Sony fanboys to try and justify it......

I hope that SONY include RADIO FM in a second semester 2016 flagship. At least a Third World version of it.
