Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) review: Value driven

17 July 2016
Samsung's J-lineup is being fully renovated and the 2016 badge on the model name implies meaningful updates – albeit subtle, which is understandable. After all, this is the Koreans’ economy class of smartphones. But the series is obviously important enough for Samsung to even add new digits.

Overpriced and crappy. My mom had one for a month, screen had scratches on because Dragontail glass is useless. The UI is same old Samsung bloat. Gave her a Moto G3 which cost the same, much better phone.

Cortex A7 with 1.5gb ram in 2016 and value driven? If that was $80 maybe.

ithehappy, 18 Jul 2016"The UI runs smooth!" Are you guys serious? I find it so ha... morethese j series share same ui with s6, note 5 and s7. new touchwiz run smooth on them, as j5 owner i can confirm that.

"The UI runs smooth!" Are you guys serious? I find it so hard to believe an entry level Samsung phones has optimised TouchWiz! Don't know! The camera samples are pretty bogus anyway! I fail to see a single point to get this over other phones in this segment like Moto G v3!

                    Kudos Samsung, once again.

I feel sorry for any person who would get suckered into buying this thing.

No compass, gyro and lightsensor? 1.5GB RAM and 8GB ROM in 2016? It's that hard to put 2GB/16GB as standard these days? 8MP camera (where it should be at least 13MP with a 1/3" Sony sensor, which are cheap these days) and no freaking NFC? Also, Android 5.1? This junk just shouldn't be more than 50 bucks. And man, it's a Samsung, with TouchWiz crap. 1.5GB RAM just ain't gonna cut it.

Wow. The lack of basic sensors is just astonishing. For the amount we pay, i say Samshit!
