Sony's latest flagship, the Xperia Z6 comes with refined design, improved camera, and a due update in specs. Wait, back up a little there - it's actually called the Xperia XZ this time around but, yeah, the rest of that is true.

        Thats great that you finally admit that gsmarenas camera shootout was honest, especially about Xperia XZ. And you even thanked gsmarena. Its a pity that Sony XZ had the worst camera of the 4 brands in the shootout.

          The Sony Xperia XZ is a great phone.

            [deleted post]He keeps looking at arenas prerelease XZ unit photos, but doesnt care to look anywhere else, as it suits his prejudice.
            On the other hand tho, it is really a wonder of stupidity from Sonys side to give out prerelease software units to some known unkeen reviewers. They shoot themselves in the foot deliberately.

              use manual and see how it destroys other brands.. on audio does anyone have wireless lossless audio? others got APTX at maximum... sony got LDAC.. kindly do some research.. and 3gb of ram? funny how it runs faster than phones with 4gb ram and higher :)

              its not all about specs.. optimization comes to play.. thats why apple have been faster as always with lower spec..

              same old? isn't the 5 axis stabilization new? so the SD820 is old? 5 axis stabilizer is old? how about Qnovo tech on battery? and smart battery care? are they old? how about 24/192 native player? would the exploding smartphone become the true innovation? oh that's new feature as well for samsung right? also, did you wonder about grey lines on samsung s7edge? a lot were experiencing that.. heating issues, graphic rendering on games.. how about smart cleaner for the ram optimization? is this available on Z5? oh and 5axis stabilization on front camera, is that available even on X and X performance? what about full controls and iso control on 23mpx?

              does S7e allows you to adjust Exposure if you tweak Shutterspeed manually? mine is greyed out, also no HDR on PRO mode.. so you cant combine negative exposure + HDR which creates better dynamic range with shutterspeed aswell..

                  Wow!
                  Another ho-hum also-ran over-priced so-called "flagship" phone from SONY. It's the same-old same-old again and again over and over. It seems that SONY just does not want to excel in the smartphone business, so why do they keep trying to be something they really don't want to be? The specs on the XZ still fall short of most other high-end high-priced flagship phones. Your customers and your competition look seriously at specs, so either get in the game, or get out of the game. Lead, follow, or get out of the way. Examples: below average audio performance, no fingerprint sensor in US market, only 3GB RAM, below average camera performance across the board.
                  If this is the best SONY can come up with for its price, then there is no reason to buy it. This new XZ is a pretty good phone for USD$399, but it's not worth USD$650-700. There is nothing remarkable about this phone that would compel most smartphone afficianados to buy it.
                  Tip of the Day for SONY: Stop making dozens of different ho-hum phones. Make 2 or 3 outstanding phones, all with the same top features, market them world-wide (including the US, which SONY foolishly continues to ignore), back them up with the best warranty and world-class world-wide customer service & support (SONY sucks in this department), ....and if you really want to sell smartphones you need to advertise them in all media, especially TV.
                  If you want to run with and compete against the big dogs, then SONY needs to start acting like a big dog. Show us they are serious about their smartphone business and give us a truly top drawer product that we actually want to spend big bucks to own.
                  Is SONY listening to its consumers? Do they care what we think? Apparently the answer to both questions is NO.

                    Totally un-pleasing / life-less photos. Ordered this one just because of dual-sim option, but would now go for the honor 8 again (sells only as single-sim in India).

                    Anybody buying XZ for its camera, please stay away. It's simply not worth it! And don't fall for excuses that it will be get fixed with the software updates, because it will not! I kept waiting for so on my Z3C for like ages, nothing got fixed eventually!

                      What's wrong with your stills algorithm sony?!! Over sharpened / un-natural images, especially when viewed at 1:1!! I have been experiencing the same ever since the Z3C. Other companies have been successful at producing great photos from your same sensors through optimized algorithms but not you! That way, I am not expecting DxO more than 75! Honor 8 on the other hand produces way better images - with way too few noise and no over sharpening!

                      Afterall when will you fix your damn algo when???!!! Now I'm seriously thinking about canceling my XZ order after seeing the camera samples on GSMA! Very very disappointed by the camera samples!!

                      Really, whoever says the XZ has got a "great" camera is a dumb or a blind! Sorry, but I totally hate Sony for their smartphone cameras!

                              All previous dual-sim Sony Xperia flagship phones up to the Xperia Z5 had dedicated slots for microSD and Sim 2. If it's true that the XZ Dual will have shared microSD and Sim 2 slot, then that would be a major con.

                                    About cons mentioned by gsmarena team..
                                    1.fingerprint sensor not available for us market..
                                    Its available but not activated by default for unknown reason..i think they have not permission to sell fingerprint enbaled phones in us market.. or something like that...
                                    2.3GB ram not enough
                                    I think it has more than enough ram to itself..
                                    Handling games multitasking its good enough..
                                    Remember old 32 bit windows os it can't handle more than 4 gb ram..
                                    So its up with the android.. not with the ram..
                                    Hey team gsmarena its a better phone than samsung j series..lol..
