Huawei is excellent.
But it don't means Xiaomi is awful.
Mate 9 may have better speed in multitasking but mi 5s+ have sd821 with adreno 530 .
Mail G71 MP8 in the face of Adreno 530
Can't do anything.......
Camera .. designe .. display : mate 9
Performance .. Ui system .. gaming : 5s+

Picked a p9 ahead of s7 was the worst mistake of my life. The service guys really gave me headaches

You can see the graphics benchmarks yourself. It's weaker than adreno 530 and Mali inspite of driving only a fhd. Op3t smokes it too so do both pixels and s7

I'm preferring Huawei Mate9 because of its Chipset super power saving.... and its co-engineered lens "LEICA", with its 20mp+12megapixel rear can. Thumbs UP!!!!

Best chipset. Snapdragon 821?!!... As i know the Kirin 960 is a better chipset than the Snapdragon 821, as in processor as in graphics. Yes. even the Kirin 960 being a standard Cortez A73 and the Snapdragon 821 a costumized Cortex A72, the Kirin 960 has a better processor as in performance as in efficience. And in the graphics departemant has also better performance because the Mali-G71 MP8 has 40% better performance than the Mali T880 MP12 in the Galaxy S7 with the Exynos 8890.

To be honest, when I see the two phones side by side, the Xiomi Mi 5s Plus looks like a terrible Huawei Mate 9 clone.

Be careful your review.
Xiaomi lost 40billions in 18months.
So I am seriously doubt about Xiaomi.Huawei is premium brand.Thus Huawei is asking more than Xiaomi does.
Different price mèans different qiality.
Xiami is able to produce only cheap phone.They can't make premium phone like Huawei.So please don't compare them..

But it is true that Xiaomi doesn't officially sell any phones in Europe - so we have to rely on reselllers.

same as looking at iphone prices ,just fast cpu and gpu all other things are for laughing ,im not using phone for games ,thats why i never gonna buy iphone ,just samsung or huawei ,now rocking p9

In my homeland, a lot of people interested in the Redmi 3S and the RedMi Note 3 "special edition", because of their amazing "bang For the buck" ratio and they finally have lte B20! If Xiaomi will keep up adding this lte Band to more and more devices, europeans will definitely buy it. Keep up the good work Xiaomi.

Hardly a comparison. A lot of people will not pay so much for a phone. And yes, buying Mate locally and officially gives you a proper LTE coverage, proper warranty and localized phone out of the box. But.....Xiaomi is still the best deal,
And if it comes even half in every department to a phone priced twice - it is worth it. And i think it comes to about 85-90% of the overall performance - which should be shameful to every other manufacturer charging twice for basicly the same phone.
Aestetics is really a personal thing and not a merit by ots own. Would buy 5s Plus any day and i know it has shortcomings, but nothing and i mean nothing in the world justifies a 700 euro price tag for a smartphone. Not to mention Pixels, Iphones and S7's.
