Huawei Mate 9 vs. Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus: Bargain bin

Huawei unveiled the Mate 9 as the best phone in the world - and indeed it has many superior qualities. Including the price! We started wondering if we can match most features at half the price. This lead us to the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, which has a lot in common with the Huawei.

    Why Huawei so proud about this phone? I love Mate 9 but the gpu of the phone is overwhelming for its price.

          The Mi 5s Plus may not be the better phone, but it is hands down the better deal. Also, having a phone with on-screen nav buttons as my daily driver, it is getting to be annoying enough to be a deal breaker for these two reasons:

          1. Your effective screen size becomes smaller when not in fullscreen mode, which is 99% of the time for me, since the bottom is always reserved for the nav toolbar.

          2. When in fullscreen mode, you have to make an extra swipe down from the top (like opening notifications) to go home, go back, or switch apps.

            I guess Huawei Mate 9 Has The Better Specs Rather Than the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus.
            Huawei Android OS, v7.0 (Nougat) While The xiaomi Has Android OS, v6.0 (Marshmallow) Although Mate 9 Has A Weak Chipset (Hisilicon Kirin 960) However The MI 5S Has A better Chipset Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 For The Quality Of the Camera/Pictures Mate 9 Has 20Mp While Mi 5S Has 13Mp Over All Mate 9 Has A Higher Price Rather Than MI 5S But Still We Cannot Claim The capacity And Also The Ability Of Each Phone If We Wont Use Them Right So There Would Be Saying DONT PROCLAIM YOU ARE THE WINNER IF THE GAME IS ABOUT TO START. Let Wait For The Result Of the Mate 9.

              imho.... mi5s plus just for these 3 reasons:
              - snapdragon instead of kirin
              - better battery life ( with 200mah less on battery)
              - navigation button OUT OF the screen.....
              stop.
              huawei likes to put navigation buttons on screen.... and i hate this decision

                Mate 9's only real flaw is not having a Snapdragon-chipset. I won't buy it because of it. :( The screen size and all other things about it are so good, damn shame it was crippled by the chipset. :/

                  Why no comment about Android 7.0 Nougat update in progress for a number of Xiaomi phones? Xiaomi already has updates for beta testers.

                    I will go for Mi 5s Plus for gaming graphics, low cost and development support.

                      Is it only me or gsmarena vs reviews are getting worse, the old ones are way better and detailed

                        Am i the only one who thinks that these two phones look very similiar , especially in the area where the camera sits ?
