I see no reason to update for the time being: Flat design is absolutely hideous (visual differentiation and highlights are one of the hallmarks of effective ergonomics) and I will _not_ accept a reduction in screen resolution. And no: I can fully distinguish the difference between my S7 Edge's 534 ppi and 1080p screens (and I have always been able to see every pixel on my old iPhone 4); to me screen resolution is one of the most important decision factors in a phone! Isn't there a function to permanently preserve QHD on Nougat?
Enough nagging, but also important: How much additional memory did Nougat require?

I like Nougat. I had one of the Betas installed and I liked it instantly, compared to previous updates (Lollipop, MM). All I'm waiting now is the Xposed framework to work with it.

David, 02 Feb 2017Can you all stop with the "Android uses Java" nonsense? And... moreIkr, I didn't say Android uses JVM, but Android still using ART as their Virtual Machine, meanwhile Swift/C/C++ as example, these languages directly executable on hardware and don't suffer from Garbage Collector.

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2017You must not be very experienced with samsung's or any phone Nope, not at all. I just happened to have three out of five Notes, two out of seven S series, LEL, never again I'm going back to them, period. If I didn't have the money to buy Pixel then I would simply use a Moto G4 Plus or something. Have no interest to welcome cancer in my tech life thanks Samsung.
This TouchWiz, this shouldn't even be considered as android, look at the devs' comments about technicalities of TW and significantly inferior Samsung has made it by going off course from vanilla android path.

This particular bullet point might just make me consider samsung again: "Option to select resolution at which the interface is rendered".
Holy smokes! Now we can finally render stuff at 1080P and just upscale it to 1440p or 2160p!
You get the battery life during general use, since GPU doesn't have to render all those pixels now, AND at the same time, in Sony Xperia fashion, you get 4k resolution displayed when you actually have 4k content, like photos and videos!
