Huawei P10 vs LG G6 dual camera shootout: Sightseeing in Barcelona

06 March 2017
We're saying goodbye to yet another Mobile World Congress, but we have a few days left to hang around the beautiful city of Barcelona. Filled with Gaudi's masterpieces and amazing architecture in general, it would serve as an excellent arena for camera shootouts and we just couldn't miss this opportunity. We left the MWC with two great flagship devices each with a dual camera setup of its own - the LG G6 and the Huawei P10 - and we've decided to put them to a real-life test in the streets of Barcelona.

He's saying that to capture the equal amount of light, a 1/3" sensor needs an aperture of f/1.55 to capture as much light as a 1/2.3" sensor with an aperture of f/2. in my opinion G6 wide angle camera is more practical to have. Lots of occasions in my daily life that need wider lens field of view.

So basically the LG 12mp camera was better than Huawei's 20mp camera.

Who cares about Bokeh effects and Black and White pics?? I want my camera to take a photo be clear and have better quality images and that was the LG clearly.

Their own words "LG G6 also focuses on quality and with its wider aperture on the main camera you'd be getting even better photos at night. Its wide-angle secondary camera replaces the annoying panorama shooting and allows you to fit more in the frame with a single photo. It doesn't pressure you to use your photographic creativity as much, but it offers a solid camera with high usability and good performance in all sorts of situations"

Keep bokeh effects and B&W images I have the better pics at night thank you very much.

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2017Always the aperture nonsense... f/1.8 means nothing without... moreIf read these articles,

then you will find the size pixel is directly affect sensors.

Since the beginning of photography, Aperture was, is and will be related to light absorption.

                https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aperture

                https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_sensor

Above 24MP sensors, in order to be excellent in low light and use high speed with low noise, must be at least Full Frame (35mm). Low light photography is not just tripod or IS. For fast photography, Sensitivity must not exceed ISO400, that big pixels digitally resemble it.
The faster f/number, the better for low light real time photography.

A professional DSLR with Medium Format sensor and a wide fast lens, can take photographs, in any condition from deep darkness to snow covered landscapes.

So, Aperture matter, Sensor size matter, Pixel size matter and pixel count also matter.

For an end user in smartphone photography, f/1.7 is more than enough, and if they can't control their scene, pale colors is the daylight result.

F:1.9 with automatic control of WB and HDR is what end users need.

Both P10 and G6 did their job, flawlessly good in both Day light and Low light.

Huawei has come a long way in Smartphone photography.

Huaweis flagships have some of the best cameras on the market

Always the aperture nonsense... f/1.8 means nothing without knowing the sensor size. For instance in theory f/2 with a 1/2.3" sensor is equal to f/1.55 with a 1/3" sensor (sensor size of the LG G6).

This makes me wantdual 12mp lens of both with 1.7 aperture, ois, with huawei-like dual lens method (both works to increase image quality. Yes please! Samsung should respond with this basic camera spec in their debut of dual lens!
