Nokia 6 review: Back in black

03 April 2017
Nokia, rebooted. The Finnish brand that was once synonymous with mobile phone had gone missing since Microsoft acquired the company’s smartphone business in 2014.

The Nokia 6 for me ticks all the right boxes except the not-so-powerful processor and the stock Android. I don't like the plain look, close to zero customizability options and lack of useful inbuilt features on stock Android. Kudos to Nokia for making the Nokia 6 really tough.

The great build quality is still there too. I don't really see the issues except using a weaker SoC but I don't game to even notice. Even Snapdragon 410 was good enough for me. It would be a great value for under $100 though.

People forget Nokia was legendary through four areas they excelled at -

      Budget pricing (lower end)
      Clear, loud reception
      Build quality
      Camera quality

My favorite phone brand is back! Time to reclaim its former throne...

I feel Nokia should upgrade SoC on Nokia 5 & 6 to Qualcomm Snapdragon 625/650 as 430 is too dated and far less powerful than 625. Most phones in the price range of Nokia 5/6 come with atleast Q-SD-625. Also, Nokia will have to re-establish itself in the smartphone market, as its past reputation makes no difference to discerning customers of today. If HMD Global gets the pricing and specs right for its Nokia phones, it can once again rule the market in India, and stop the tsunami of cheap phones from China.

Str... moreredmi note 3 is good for those who want good perfomance, but majority of people need good all around phone, they want good design, better camera, build quality, status, better mic and speaker, good display, easy to repair etc.

if you want perfomance phone wait for Nokia 7 and 8 rumors they will pack sd660 which is better soc for midrange

Even in the most carrier locked phones, you still have the option to "Allow Unknown Sources" to be able to install the apk file directly, as well as installing a 3rd party app store, such as an Amazon app store or any other.

I own a Xiaomi flagship from 2013 that I got for only $245. But this Nokia 6 is competing against the likes of Moto G5 Plus using the same SoC. Also, more people trust the name Nokia or Motorola than they do with Xiaomi, ZTE, or Gionee/BLU.

You can name drop to me all the cheap phones. I know them all ranging from Filipino local brands to Acer, ASUS, and so forth. Example is OnePlus 3T for $430. LMAO! I got a branded LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge for $380 total. Both unlocked already by their carriers. Better cameras, better screens, and from more reputable brands than some Chinese one stealing your info and sending it to some Chinese server.

Strong and sturdy. Looks?appearance is just a subjective topic not worth focusing on and definitely not worth overpaying, only fanboys would do something as silly as that. Nope not even by a long shot is this Nokia 6 worth this much money, it is overpriced thievery.

Try to check Redmi Note 3 Pro and Nokia 6 and compare the build quality.

Then tell me this "overpriced poor imitation at best" phone is worse than your RedMi Note 3 Pro

Savor, 05 Apr 2017You are expecting top quality for a $250 phone? SMH You even aware that for much less people can get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (Pro) with more powerful SD650 SoC and monstrous battery and a great IPS panel to boot? How low? Try 135USD for the 16GB base model.

*SMH* @ how some people will buy anything because of a brand. This is not even close to real Nokia standards, it's an overpriced poor imitation at best.
