Nokia 6 review: Back in black

03 April 2017
Nokia, rebooted. The Finnish brand that was once synonymous with mobile phone had gone missing since Microsoft acquired the company’s smartphone business in 2014.

AnonD-237083, 04 Apr 2017Did you know snapdragon 200 series exist ? Ur comment made me LAUGH hard today...

SD400 series are low-end chipset & STILL marketed as low-end SoC and it STILL worse than MediaTek mid-range SoC which sold at the same price as SD400 series

SD200 series made later as VERY low-end chipset in order to keep MediaTek & Spreadtrum chipsets at bay, as those two are known as fabless company that sold VERY CHEAP SoC with good CPU & decent GPU. U can see that SD200 series are still using 28nm architecture, Cortex A7 & very low-end Adreno 304 which can only run Angry Birds at best.

In my country, SD210 & SD212 used to powered US$61 Android phone, while SD400 series phones are sold around US$100 or higher. Those two prices are once MediaTek & Spreadrum domain before SD208/210 released, since only these two companies can offer cheap 4G enabled SoC at that time.

Anonymous, 04 Apr 2017430 is low end, but today's "low end" are far better than l... moreThis is ONE of the example when NOOBS & fanatics trying to talk SMART about SoCs but instead revealing how SHALLOW their knowledge in SoC, making it no better than TROLLING...

"430 is low end, but today's "low end" are far better than last years "mid range", and far better than even older "high end"!"

NO WAY IN BLOODY HELL THAT WILL EVER HAPPENS! EVER!

Why? because QC/MediaTek/Intel/whatever it is need to DIFFERENTIATE their products in a way that EVEN older types will not be overtaken by newer ones.

e.g SD430 vs SD600; the winner WILL STILL be SD600, because it was a flagship SoC which made to LAST, meaning even when compared with the latest generation of SD400 series (SD435), or newer generation SD600 series (615/616/617) it won't lose, both CPU & GPU performance of SD600 is still outstanding even after 4 years, BUT if u r talking about OTHER things in SoC, such as 4g modem, bluetooth version, ram type support, 64-bit CPU, ETC, it DOES lose, since it was made 4 years ago...

Even SD800 or SD801 devices is still widely used as alternative for mid-range SoC albeit 4 years old now because its GPU performane (Adreno 330) still MILES better than Adreno 510 in SD65x series, which is, once more, deliberately designed by QC so that newer mid-range SoC won't overshadowed older high-end SoC sales which by now would be priced the same.

In short, PLEASE learn a BIT MORE before trying to write a comment. Not only it will show how SHALLOW ur knowledge, ur comments can made other noobs MISUNDERSTAND how SoC company do their business, and will prefer to buy the latest SD400 series phone rather than older hi mid-range SoC like SD65x series or older SD800 series which is VERY POWERFUL for mid-range phone

So how possible is this to use as a daily driver?

I am not tied to Google's ecosystem. So can I install Whatsapp through Amazon App store? (If not, there's always Signal).

What about Maps? Does Here maps still offer their standalone APK?

I think I could manage with Whatsapp/Signal, Here, and Firefox from F-Droid Store.

                          Anybody actually using this?

Nokia died with Nokia 808 Pure View. Elop's reign was no longer the same company, idiotic idea of using WP in Nokia phones... the system that was in beta for years. Now is HMD Global not Nokia.

Getting SD 430 for mid range price is not at all wise.My leeco 2 is much better than this and is cheaper too.
le 2 has good camera,SOC and has very good build quality only place where it sucks is software support and lack of 3.5mm jack but now we have official lineage OS 13 so software support can be ignored.
