I thought this is a flagship with enough hardware to run on VR flawlessly - my budget phone can do it even with the lack of some things for VR. Fingerprint Scanner disabling is caused by US's patent system that disallows Sony to enable it or they'll not be able to sell it. But hey, at least Sony cares for US people and try to send their products to them, and unfortunately, Sony cannot do anything to fix the problem caused by their country, until their system will allow Sony to do so

The 960fps slow-mo HD videos hold a lot of potential but capturing the moment takes practice and is a hit-and-miss when you only have 1/16 of a sec to work with - less than a split second of the real-life actions gets slowed down." So are you exactly boasting off a few seconds slow-mo video as a pathbreaking feature? Apart from this gimmicky camera nothing is new than last years XZ. Same old big bezels, same old FHD screen, same old stereo speakers(rated average in loudness by GSMA) same old processor and yeah slow-mo video feature which won't allow you to capture not more than a fraction of a second. When you are not allowing your customers to use your star feature to full extant then it's no point having that feature.

Large bezels?
-Then I challenge you guys to fight me. Hold your S8/S8+ with your hands without accidentally touching the screen, drop your phone sideways and bring your phone back to me when it has no cracks, and show me how to put a screen protector on that screen, which covers the entire screen including the edges WITHOUT taking more than 10 minutes.
Yesteryear's flagship chip?
-Then why is nobody complaining about LG's use of SD821 which is also a chip of yesteryear? SD820 and SD821 are literally almost the same processors. What does that '1' does better? Oh, the name, because "higher number is better," right my dear friends?
1080p display?
-Why do you need such an overkill resolution on a small screen? Sony put 4K on the Z5 Premium and XZ Premium for VR users (yeah, Sony doesn't have a VR to use that with, but still, it's the purpose) and the XZ Premium offers a screen resolution adjustment if you don't need 4K all the time. Samsung needs 2K because sAMOLEDs are of less resolution because of 1 plain pixel vs 3 sub-pixel on 1 pixel of IPS LCD screens. A 2K sAMOLED = 1080p IPS LCD, unless the screen is in RGB pattern, which is way more expensive to manufacture than typical Diamond Pentile pattern panels. Geez people you really need more research on that.
Poor camera?
-Only thing I could agree with you, but mid rangers have better cameras? Please people, that's way too much and OP. XZs is on flagship territory and it fails to compare to its competitors ONLY in low light because the XZs destroys every other flagships in broad daylight. Do I need to mention that 40x Super Slow Motion 960fps video recording? Like I've said, you're paying $200 for a phone that can't even do the same as close as this phone.
Battery is mediocre?
-72 vs 73 may not be that of a difference, but you wanna know why? Because it's the super bright display with such great contrast. G6 in comparison, gets the same endurance as the XZ because of a dimmer display (yeah blacks contribute but hey, it's the effect of HDR). No need to mention the STAMINA Mode, we know why it's the best power saving feature on any phones of all time.
Okay, so here's my thing - I'm not against all of you. I know it's your opinion, but the problem is that you people are overreacting to the phone, hating it too much as if the phone did anything bad to your family or your relatives. Anyone can have their preference, hence why I never argued about the design. But to say that this phone is the worst just because you don't like it is just an act of a child. Sorry, but that's what it is. This phone is not made to be cheap. Everything this phone has to offer matches a relatively high price, and for all over the years, I still don't understand why people are easily surprised by high price tags, as if you never bought a $1,000 flagship phone. You can hate me for this if you want, but I just wanted to emphasize on why everybody seems to be too affected with this single product. People, this is just a phone. It'll not destroy the world or put anyone or anything in danger. Apology if I sometimes do act like a hater, but I just act on people based on how they act upon me. If you're a fan to me, then I'll be a fan to you. I myself also have my own favorites, and to tell you directly, you're not mislead, I am a Sony fan - well, not as much as I was before. I know Sony's flaws, but those aren't bad if you consider the product itself. This is getting too long now and I might make a novel piece with this one, but cheer up guys, there are more useful things to do in life than having a war with other people because of smartphones. Over all , Xperia Xzs is best phone in 2017.. They lot of improvement from previous Phone XZ...its much better than XZ ..
Why too many complain about camera ? ...guys Go to YouTube and campare and watch results... Xperia XZs is not bad in low light..

What a joke of a phone. Expensive, but doesn't really offer anything even remotely worth the price. Plus this square-thing going on with the design, too blocky for my personal taste. The camera was what I was expecting, the ugly artifacts and corner-softness just won't go away. :D

in the last 12 months: X performance - XZ - XZs
SD820 3G - SD820 3G - SD821 4G, does sony really expect to sell this phone to anyone in 2017? God no wonder they are keep losing money

Oversaturated and poorly calibrated screen (Delta 6.2 i don't know why GSMArena said is decent).
Poor camera.
Old chipset SD820.
I would rather buy an LG G6 for $650 or pay $50 more for the superior Galaxy S8.
