Like you said different phones with same sensor can get different scores . All that matters that the final result looks pleasing to the eye maybe 300$ or 800$ phone. And what makes you think that those guys are gonna put flagship cam with same processing in phone that costs less than 1/2 the price I suppose they still would like to sell you their costlier devices

Another Sony 'Square' phone. It seems like they simply do not have a design department, or one at the very least is oblivious to what is trending in popularity. I am surprised people still buy from them.

Z5 has 88 photos, 87 videos
XZ has 87 photos and 88 videos. The lower photo score is due to artifacts. It can be managed by update if Sony wants to.
Lets not forget that this same imx300 is now used on XA1 and XA1 Ultra..
A 280 dollars phone will be able to do better than G6 and iphone 7

What I do not undestand is if Sony sells any device for 340 USD, people say it is expensive.
If others release same phone for 400 USD it is okay.
If in my country S8 shows up for 1300USD it will be okay. If Sony charges 1200USD for XZ Premium it will be a crime according people who comment on technology websites.
I do not think G6 is better than XZs, similar price. XZs dual has 64gb, front stereo speaker.
And honestly, G6 display does not look QHD. It is kinda dark, colors are lil bit dead..
Video from Phone Battle on youtube, colors on XZs seem better than on G6.

Sony is not in the best of places. They were committed to selling in 50 million smartphones for FY2014-15 but after looking at the first 3 quarters they have revised the number down to 39m The Z series smartphones have been very popular for Sony but not popular enough to increase sales significantly YOY due to lack of interest in North America and China. In fact sales have barely increased YOY. Sony will focus on their mid and high end handsets and hope to extend the lifecycle between their flagship devices.

IMX333 has an undisclosed release date. Galaxy S8 sports such model and IMX333 only appeared on the Exmor RS list of models barely a day after Galaxy S8's unveiling.
How'd I know? I was already in constant review of the Exmor RS list ever since the S8 was rumored to shoot 1000 fps videos and I was more so in constant reference to the list since the S8 was rumored to use Sony's IMX333. (Since I was so curious I was already adamant and eager to speculate which image sensor Samsung would utilize for the S8 duo days before the S8 duo's unveiling.) I even thought the latter rumor could have been bogus because IMX333 was not showing up on the Exmor RS list until after the S8 duo's announcement.
In other words, with the recent surfacing of the IMX333, IMX400 couldn't be the latest released sensor now, could it? Like I said before, I'd want to reiterate that the higher the Exmor sensor model number does not necessarily equate to the product being the latest

It was not on the Exmor RS list until Galaxy S8 was made official and until Samsung disclosed such detail and it has NOT been a month since the Exmor RS model reveal nor the Galaxy S8's unveiling. If anything, from that time forward, it had just proven Sony now (if it has not done so before) is allowing other OEMs to utilize their latest camera sensors such as IMX333. If anything, it just exemplified their "exclusivity code" for their imaging sensors being broken and disproved
