Sony does that to increase signal without using ugly external antenna.
Most of those cheap chinese have more than 95% of their sales in China and India. Most of population cant afford a phone that cost more than 400.
Huawei is the only chinese that has high sales out of China.
Between october and december XZ was the best seller among android smartphones released after july..
More than Pixel, Moto Z or OP3T
In 2014 Sony sold 50 million devices...

In fact OLED tvs seem to need some work on their own response time.
Not sure why these things aren't even looked at on phone's, vr is only going to make them more important.

The XZs is a pretty fine phone. My only qualms are the 73 hours battery life (a bit low) & the unimpressive low-light shots especially in today's age. I also wish they didn't drop the FM Radio support as they were one of the very few flagship-makers who still retained it.

to all the 5s, 6s-es before, they were just "updated flagships"

250$ cheaper than S8 and equal performer with equal and some even better set of advanced features.
More expensive than oneplus 3T but better featured phone with same performance level.
About same priced as huawei p10, but better performer and with more features.

This phone is too expensive and the upcoming XZ premium will be even worse. Sony's biggest problem is their pricing. They want to priced their phones like apple and Samsung but they are not in the same league as the two. They are not even on par with one plus and huawei.
