In reality it loses in the vast amount of individual tests (just read them, not just the conclusion)
Losing to the vast majority tests I call this being a worse phone, it's simple really.
This phone cannot compete with the weak 2017 class, imagine how much harder things would be if it was to be compared to the stronger 2016 class...

So yes it's worse than S7E since it struggles to compete with S8 (just look at its comparison to G6 and S8 here in gsmarena).

There is no perfect phone out there but high-end smartphones are getting so ridiculously good that neither of them has any dealbreakers and we're sure you'd be happy with whichever one you pick".
See? This phone is good and can compete. It's insulting to see you saying it can't compete with S7 when it's in the league of any latest premium phone out there.

But ... moreMany of you are dismayed but many are not. I've read a lot reviews about xperia phones in the past since the orig z. This is the first time I see a positive review for xperia phone except for Z2. Is it not good for the buyers (non fanboys, fanboys) to see an xperia delivering overall according to reviewers which will result to a healthy competition?
I just don't understand why some people approve an article if they see it in favor of their beloved brand but disapprove it if not.

But your willingness to silence criticism against Sony is troubling too. This is not a Sony thread. This is a thread about Xperia's review and many of us who want a healthy competition between companies are very dismayed from this phone because it can hardly compete with last year's S7 Edge even ... and that's a problem .
Samsung will continue upping her prices as Sony is unable to compete, that's what many of us (non fanboys) say here. Sony *must* try harder, catering to her fans alone is bound to actually harm the phone market as a whole...

Good video here with lotsssss of face-on views of the Black model. Video itself is pretty bad as he's terrible at keeping focus, but at least there are plenty of shots with screen-off, front-facing which are hard to find at the moment.

Hey GSM Arena. Don't you have moderators? No offense but this dude, Jesse Clark, is just flooding this Sony article with his Samsung praises and Sony criticism. He is definitely in the wrong section. I don't know what he is into but this is so wrong. Why not send his comments to Samsung article? I'm a fan of Sony, I like their phones because I really can see how sturdy and premium their phones are but I never go to other manufacturer's article and flood their articles with so much disapproval. Logic is simple; why spend so much time for the phone you don't like? You can comment once, but flooding an article supposedly for true users is really annoying. I hope you read and see this GSM Arena.

I --prefer-- the chrome but I feel like the black --could-- have just that significant extra bit of class. That's the deciding factor in the end, otherwise I would be thinking about the S8, which I've already decided I can't bring myself to do. :P I just need to find way more hands-on vids to evaluate, heh.
You could say, wait to see it in the shop, but then you don't get the killer headphones with the pre-order, heh.

Three entirely different smartphones, you didn't even mention Note 8. The thing is anyone who likes XZP and HTC U11 will not like iPhone over S8. IPhone user database is about having a phone which can make them look richer than their original status by sacrificing key tech features. If it's about status the only other brand is Samsung so I agree iPhone fan will hate Samsung and most Samsung users who might already used iPhone will hate it too. But if you like pro Android less mainstream phones like U11 and Xzp, you are in a different league. But then you say wait for iPhone? I'll just say the one waiting for next iPhone has nothing to do with those two. As you didn't even mention waiting for Note 8 after naming every other brand and now saying it'll be worth waiting, you prove what I said about you in my earlier post. Accept S8 is the greatest phone right now and stop spreading hate as samsung didn't take anything from you. I don't know which brand do you really like after naming all of them but I know you just hate successful things. #onevsall

Samsung ripped you off by running a lighter version of touchwiz. If you install a proper OS (AOSP for example), you'd see it's the same.
Battery life: It's worse, all sites agree. This is a bare faced lie
Unlock: Fingerprint is a million times faster than either face or retina, you don't have to keep the phone in your face, that's silly. Putting the fingerprint back basically killed it
Aspect ratio: Cropping media is exactly my point. It's not supported, cropping media or games is killing them. So no it's not a click away, it's actually many years away unless and until companies agree to fix this in their apps. Else the aspect ratio is a$$ as it is unsupported.
I went to their website. S8 only has Bluetooth 5, everything else is never going to be used. It's like buying a car with a better tail light all the while your old one was operfectly bright too. I mean who cares?
S8 is a step back on two of the big three. Worse ergonomy (due to the silly aspect ratio, death of one handed use and weird fingerprint placing), worse autonomy )(that's what less battery does to you). It's only equal in performance and camera.
You're duped my friend, lioke many of those Sony fans are.
Problem with both Sony and Samsung at this point is that they are milking the cow.
Samsung did it again with Note 5. It was worse in almost everything to Note 4 (except camera) ... Yet many people bought it.
*That* is what kill smarphones, fanboys (of Samsung or Sony), who would buy anything, even steps back.

AnonD-72356, 21 May 2017I highly doubt you'll buy any flagship phone, you are just ... morealolololo .. im not samsung hater lol.. i am not did it when g6 come out ... i will not continue with chinese like One Plus or etc .. yeeah Chinese brand have some good smartphone too like xiaomi 6 and One plus 5 but i dont really like it bcoz after sale service is not good in my area .. but to be honest i dont care about s8 not bcoz it from samsung but bcoz it come out with some prob also not really big different from s7 lol... but Note 8 maybe will make me interested bcoz of coz samsung will care much about it bcoz of note 7 failure :)
