Booooo for not mentioning G6's MIL-STD-810G shock protection, as well as describing Sony's shutter time "full-range" - it's only 1/4000 - 1s. I'm sometimes barely satisfied with 30s...

I bought an S8 last week, and out of the box, it was faulty! When I make a call, the receiver of the call hear a lot of noise in the call. So much so for Samsung improved quality control after the Note 7 debacle. They are still not doing a good quality control. Very disappointed with Samsung experience. Also with other Samsung devices, once you update the software, it will slow down and make it unusable, so your only course of action is to buy a new device. It happens to my Note Tab and other previous Samsung smartphones. S8 will be my last Samsung device...
Will buy the Xperia XZ Premium Dual in Luminous Chrome once it comes out in the stores...

Where G6 absolutely loses is the basically smaller screen (less wide in portrait, weird aspect ratio) despite the larger size of the device. The far worse battery life (can't carry a spare anymore), the same hardware (SD821 vs SD820 ... basically the same).
It's a clear step back. I'm sorry for your purchase.

[deleted post]That's definitely not the solution and most possibly the reason why those 3 have stopped trying.
People buying what they love instead of what's best for them bescially stilts competition to a still. That means that we get much of the same for many years in a row ... Maybe forever.
See S8 for example. It's a taller, weaker S7E (literally) yet Samsung produced it knowing that people will buy it anyway because people buy brand over "worth".
Similar with this Sony. Sony in phones is not even that popular (for a good reason) yet they produced this throwback of a phone knwoning that people will buy it anyway.
In short having blind preferences kills the world. The world can become a better place starting with you. *Try* to be buying from a different brand each time, that's a good start in building a better world.
Phones are supremely important the prime tool of modern people. We identify with out techn since the stone age, so it's not a small thing to actually have good phones instead of being filled with devices created for fans alone...
