Just got my U11 today, replacing my HTC 10.
The speakers of U11 is very impressive. The sound output is a lot improved compare to HTC 10. The treble and base speakers mix very well in U11, unlike HTC 10.
However, the HTC USonic earphone is not impressive.
First, the cable is short. I am a short Asian guy (5 ft 6), the length of the cable is just okay for me. For tall folks the cable may not be long enough.
Second, the active noise cancellation from USonic is weak. The tip does not have a good seal for passive isolation either.
For using headphone jack with adapter in U11, the is no individual sound profile for it (I cannot find the option to enable it)... In HTC 10 you can have different profile for different headphone. I do not expect U11 would be losing such nice feature.
Overall the phone is pretty solid, very attractive. I got the blue color one.😊

In the studio pics the U11 looks a touch better than the S8 in good light. In the low light pics studio the S8 certainly preforms better which is a bit surprising.

The squeeze function could be useful to open the camera for example when taking it out of your pocket. That way the camera would be fully loaded by the time you've pointed your phone at something, then it's squeeze again to capture the image.
Everythings a gimmick till you find a use for it.

Levy, 10 Jun 2017The phone is too large and too boring; those huge bezels ma... moreif it got bezel, doesn't mean it is outdated, trend sheep is always trend sheep, if bezel really determined the modern look of a phone, i can say xperia zl and sharp aquos xx is better than s8, with minimal bezel and 16:9 aspects ratio,
If squeeze really is gimmick, at least it's not a gimmick that got in way on the screen like distorting the screeen(read: edge)

in your camera compare tool ، in low light texts under color checker shows us that U11 is absolutely out of focus and i found no other phone like this in your tool (even undated camera of HTC 10 which after updates is way more accurate than your samples did not had such problem at launch) i think something is wrong with low light shot. please check again and let us know if it is U11s fault or yours.

[deleted post]I hope u r not a Htc hater .. lol ... If u cant accept its the best phone of 2017.. then thats your opinion. In my opinion its just better than S8 Garbage in every way.. U11 has way better software handling, better ram management, better camera, better audio, better performance, a great design, will always lasts longer than any Galaxy lag phones and is just stunning in Solar Red n Amazing Silver :)

The back of the HTC 11 shows all that it's wrong with smartphones today. People need professional and classy-looking phones, not shiny glittering ghetto designs.

U11 has a 16MP selfie + buttons like S7.
People still complain about size.
But they do not complain about the other Samsung phones nor Motorola, nor Huawei, nor OnePlus.
Iphone has a front button, a circle that needs more space than Galaxy home button. But they make critics on iphone.
Only against Htc, Apple and Sony ..

My go... moreThe S8 also has a black front but it still manages to look interesting and modern; it makes this thing look ancient. And there's no such a thing as "echo chambers" on a smartphone; it's too packed inside for that. At any rate and IMO, having front firing speakers is not worth ruining the looks of a phone with a huge chin/forhead; I use the speaker for things like video chatting or speakerphone and for that one loud, clear speaker like the one on the G6 or the S8 is more than enough. If I want really good quality sound, e.g. when listening to music, I always use headphones.

Just like other high end Son... moreXperias got probably older ones, there is option of using in-ear mics for ultimate binaural stereo, but you can hardly count that as part of the phone if its not at least wireless. There is also no point in deciding the best one in this field than just by guess, as there is no testing done for that. You can decide by number of mics, their quality and software behind. Some phones offer sharpest picture, some best colors, some best mics, U11 is like best overall.

What a sharpshooter, stills sharper than from pixel, 3D audio, would say no1, well until oneplus5, pixel2, iphone and the others will change it. Well, mics are probably same as in V20 and S8, so 950XL got still the best ones, but its still better than to have mono...

Sorry but anyone who uses wired headphones often will know USB is useless. USB connections just aren't durable enough for constant use, and are more prone to damage if using while being active (jogging/cycling).
