Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) review: Major Junior League

19 July 2017
The Galaxy J7 (2017) is the latest annual edition of an already popular phone. The J series has already shaped as a home to some solid midrange propositions and the Galaxy J7 (2017) is meant to spice things up even further. The newcomer is blurring the lines between the J series and the A series just as we thought we had Samsung’s portfolio segmentation all figured out.

It should atleast have been used SD630.
Nothing special except battery endurance & AMOLED screen.

If you are going to insist that Low grade water resistance is one of the disadvantages in a phone then why not put below 64 is a disadvantage memory in New phones especially if there is no SDcard available .

preety good battery life, but greedy samsung remove the removable,
so i go for J7 (2016) or even better, Xiaomi Mi Max (S650)

Now THAT's battery life worthy of 2017 !

XA1 is Obviously better even though it has only 720p Display.

Thank you very much for the review. What I got from it is that if you're not a gamer then the J7 (2017) is it in the mid range class. And I'm not a gamer. But I'm after a mid range device. So this is it. And at half the price of a S8 I can upgrade twice as often. But I do wonder if lack of active noise cancellation with dedicated mic as found on the S8 is a bummer.

I had high hopes for this phone as a Galaxy J7 2015 user. However the performance of the used chipset is not acceptable for 2017 at this price point in my opinion. The only convincing part would have been if the cameras were a killer. But as it turns out they are pretty average as well. That leaves only the slick design, which other phones from other brands have as well, but at much better price/performance. Samsung is upping its prices just for its brand name. Just as Nokia did it with Nokia 6. Sorry but I'll pass Samsung this time...
