Nokia 6 review: International flavor

15 August 2017
We finally got round to it and it’s quite like we remember the Nokia 6. This time around though, it’s repackaged for worldwide action and, hopefully, not a déjà vu all over again. We’ll obviously revisit the old review of the China-bound variant, only here we'll focus on the bits that are different. And those are by no means insignificant, who knew.

Yea, this statement shows that some people actually realized that Nokia 6 is too OVERPRICED for its specs, but REFUSED to admit it honestly, as "admitting = disgrace" in fanboys' dictionary.

AnonD-692314, 15 Aug 2017if you don't want the brand, then swift to another to see t... moreLOL, I agree with Anons that the NEW Nokia is as CHEAPSKATE as it was years ago.
Nowadays, only a couple of people, especially fanboys, who actually buy a smartphone because of the brand value.

Why? Because MANY people have been tech-literrate enough that they won't fall to the same old "Nokia strategy" again; make a CHEAP cost phone with one or two striking features to "blur" the mediocre features, then priced it as "mid-range" to make it looks like a proper mid-range phone, and advertised it as frequent as possible, directly and indirectly (GSMA actually take part in "advertising" Nokia's new smartphone, using its frequent articles) to make it look like "worth to buy, as others are lining up to buy it", strikingly similar with Oppo's marketing strategy of F1 series.

let me tell u this, the TRUE immature adults are the ones who STUBBORNLY refused others' critics of their fav brand, and PERSISTENTLY justifies the issue(s) as normal/right thing, BLINDED by the stereotypying curse of "Nokia = GOD-TIER quality".

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2017you missed major difference between SD430 and SD625 SD430 ... moreTrue but battery life also depends on other components as well as the battery itself.. So gsmarena battery test has shown that despite the low video time(probably due to software bug which should be fixed in the next update) this Nokia 6 has above average battery life therefore it does't matter whether it is 28nm or 14nm..

              SD430 built on 28nm Process
              SD625 built on 14nm Process

this makes huge difference in power consumption between SD430 and SD625

Pricing it similar to g5 plus, one would expect at least a better processor

                        Usb c must be there

                        These are mostly the problems

All of these people commenting about how SD625 should be used instead of SD430 should be lolled.. There's a reason why they are whiners instead of being inside the industry.. SD625 has the same 8 core A53 as the SD430 albeit slightly higher clocked.. SD625 uses Adreno 510 which is just again a slightly higher clocked Adreno 505 in SD430.. Now will that make any difference in day to day usage??? If you really want to game on the phone the difference would be what 2-3fps?? Nokia expertly cut corners here.. Instead of using the cost to upgrade the chipset they used it on what really matters like ram, storage, build quality and camera.. Would you rather have a SD625 with only 2GB of ram and 16GB of storage??? Would you sacrifice the strongest build quality unmatched by even any flagships or the excellent 16MP camera for a generic 12MP camera and SD625 in a flimsy body?? If there is a cheaper SD428 Nokia will choose it as long as it has 1.octacore A53 2.adreno 505 level graphic and 3gb of ram.. LOL

If we want to talk about specs total crap with all do respect to Nokia and price is not fare I can have alternatives with better performance.

No Led Shame on you Nokia following Samsung.

Other than this good phone case chassis

                                Waiting for NOkia n8

I guess they want to sell phones with nokia branding but guess what no one today cares about brands anymore as all brands even Samsung are providing shitty and overpriced service

                                    "Main shortcomings:"
Smallish battery capacity ---- 3000mAh is enough for normal users.
Awkwardly placed fingerprint sensor --- (but that's nitpicking)
Basic CPU for the price segment ---- Totally agree.
One (out of 10000 users) would expect a USB-C port in 2017 ---- At least where i live.

This should have had a 625 or equivalent. Build quality aside, it's simply too underpowered for where Nokia is placing it in their lineup.
