3 Shortcomings:
Battery capacity seems low
Not fully water-proof
No 1080p@60fps video recording
"Seems" Low? Seriously? How about objective quantifications.
Name ONE phone on the market now that is water-proof (and what exactly is "fully"?..it is either waterproof or it is not). IP68 is NOT waterproof. It is water-resistant. Full Stop.
1080P@60fps recording. OK, give you that one.

Quantom, 26 Aug 2017The Nokia 8's camera is vastly underwhelming, especially wh... moreExcuse me, the Nokia 6 camera low light is the worst among all!!!! Nokia 8 on the other hand, is equally close to the S7, OPPO R11, S8, LG G6 and V20.If Nokia 8 focus on low light a lot, they will be the next best low light photographer especially in video.

Nokia 8 may be the best phone, and affordable phone of 2017 if the sale goes very well or on top of that, they need to trash down iPhone 8, Mate 10, LG V30 And the Note 8 if the performance is the best among all, the camera, battery life, loud speaker quality, durability and fastest pure secure up to date Android.

Nokia 8 lives up to the standards of the 808 PureView and the N8? NO WAY
Nokia N8 had 2.5 times bigger sensor and xenon flash. It was so good it didn't have competition. 808 was even better, but had huge bump.
Nokia 8 has tiny sensor and relativly dim aperature.
Nokia 8 loses to Galaxy S8, LG G5, HTC U11 and a lot of chinaphones

It shouldn't be my business to come here to comment but I have been testing for 2 two days this device. And I can say:
1. Same rear camera/flash same as with Xperia XA. Night portraits are took a bit faster though it can reach same quality by different settings; XA is slower at that higher iso values but it's absolutely normal regarding 8's processor.
2. Battery backup as same as with Galaxy S6.
3. Built quality and materials are the same with Xiaomi's MI6.
For a reborned so called 'King' surely it's not enough...

Nokia listened to users and high and rank of their employees this time around and not just some high level executives deciding everything abiut their phones. Going with almost stock android like they did is a winner, i believe. They just need to keep their promises on software updates.

The best words to describe this phone, as said on first page of review -"better that than nothing". Good but extremely slow camera (like always Nokia had), useless second sensor (fake bokeh? Soon it will go out of fashion and that's good), average work time (really somebody uses phone just in standby mode? Onscreen tine is not impressive at all). Boring design (take off Nokia branding and you'll get the same chinaphone as hundreds). Remember Lumia ..20 series? Ceramics and unique design. Cheap 520 looking better than this. Really. Great screen and selfie camera. And... And nothing else to say. For fans of dead brand - remove branding and you'll get good but not great overpriced chinaphone. Thanks, HMD, but you still just pretending to be flagship. Better do your excellent for it's price cheap phones.
