Apple iPhone 8 Plus review

30 September 2017
In another place and another time, the Apple iPhone 8 Plus would have been one of the hottest things around. Swathed in hype, causing a stir, bringing the free ride of the competition's flagships to an abrupt and painful halt.

With Android, no app necessary, just bluetooth it.

So what use is the Cloud if you don't have a signal? None. A memory card is the best way to store things and they're generally very resilient to knocks and bangs.

Apple is too hands on, developers should be allowed more freedom, I don't like the big brother attitude of Apple.

Anonymous, 30 Sep 20171. use shareit 2. you can do iCloud backup, iTunes backups... more1. Giving up a function that a 10+ year old device can do via sharing on Bluetooth, you're paying 900 dollars plus here btw. Why should you have to resort to 3rd party.

    2. ICloud is fine when you're at home, when you're away and on limited mobile data it's a waste of bandwidth.

    3. He's on about customization and how apple locks that down to a certain extent. I can put my own stamp on my phone you can't really do that to the same level on an iphone

It was clear that the S8 night shots are better than the iPhone 8 Plus. The daylight shots for S8 are more saturated because they were taken in better light compared to those for the iPhone, not because of the processing.

                    "Great premium mono recording." Mono.

7 Plus won. I'm pretty surprised by it like I was when the Note8 beat the 8 Plus in PhoneBuff's speed test. You can actually see blue in the sky. This is bad news for the iPhone X because it essentially has the same cameras as the 8 Plus.

I was really 50/50 with the X since I already sold my Pixel yesterday and my S7 edge is ready to be sold off within an hour. I like the X's size. But I'm now thinking about holding off until iOS11 gets better optimized. Since I like the #10 and #13, I probably won't get another iPhone until 2020 with the XIII. The 8 Plus is a disappointment.

There is probably something wrong with the tested iphone 8 plus camera. In the photo quality comperison section, the Iphone 8 plus showes in normal light and low light conditions much lower quality in terms of details then Iphone 8. Specialy towards the edges. This is also visible if you open the samples photos, its bit blurred towards the edges in certain parts of the photo.

                                i saw samples of XZ1 x Note8 lowlight , auto mode

Note 8 pics were ISO 600-800, XZ1 pics were 900-1300. This is the issue.
Great phones photos the ISO is 50-90.

This is why you do not really need manual in daylight shots, unless you like the effect of HDR.
In lowlight there is a huge difference between them.

Outdoor shots, flash must not be used unless you want to take photo of people. For Xmas tree, water fountains , buildings for example manual + slow SS + 50 ISO is better choice

It's 2017 and were still recording in mono audio lol. For a device platform which has always been aimed at the high end of stuff, you'd think they can manage stereo audio.

                                        Why I don't & won't have an iPhone.

                                        1. Poor interconnectivity - If I want to transfer an image/file from Android to Android I can easily via Bluetooth, if I want to transfer Android to iPhone, I have to email it, which isn't helpful if you haven't got a signal.

                                        2. Expandable Memory - I want to be able to hold my stuff on a memory card, separately from the phone, if the phone gets broken they're gone, with stuff on a memory card, there's a chance that they may well survive it. No memory slot, not interested thanks.

                                        3. Rigidity/Control - I find that Apple's grip on things too much & overpowering, whilst there are benefits to this, for me it's overwhelming and I don't like it. Android is a little bit more relaxed in this.

What I find quite interesting is our company has just dumped iPhones & Apple and is moving to Android based phones because they're easier to deal with and cheaper.
