Apple iPhone 8 Plus review

30 September 2017
In another place and another time, the Apple iPhone 8 Plus would have been one of the hottest things around. Swathed in hype, causing a stir, bringing the free ride of the competition's flagships to an abrupt and painful halt.

What a shitty upgrade on the battery front, when the iphone 6S Plus has better endurance. Why didn't they put in a 3100 or 3300 mAh in this one? It's baffling.

Total submission by Droids.. Hail the King..

15 hrs of video playback? iPhone X's should be higher thanks to OLED.

Bokeh is the pleasing or aesthetic quality of out-of-focus blur in a photograph. Its not really about the background not being seen but more about the isolation of the subject wherever you are. Depending on what the photographer wants to achieve, its mostly used for artistic/creative purposes.
A white background wouldnt be that interesting, would it?
But hey... at least you have the option whether to use it or not.

In my opinion this artificial bokeh will never be as good as the real thing! but still its a nice Feature to have...

i don't think this phone will sell like hotcakes,
given the fact that the X is about to released.
IMO:if you are into decent and specs wise phone
with less price cost with beast inside
                  go for Xz1 Premiu Note8 or S8+
not a Samsung fan or Sony fan but really love this device XD

The noise reduction of the iPhone 8 looks extremely synthetic. Not good for pixel peepers. Just look at the lights next to the soccer pitch. Many artifacts!

Kudos to you GSMArena for photo comparisons. Always using full resolution, untouched images. The same locations for easy comparison. Great job!

Xperia and Galaxy S8 camera looked much more natural. The iPhone camera has a yellow tint, an issue that was already present with the iPhone 5 camera. Grey does not look grey with iPhones, rather beige, that's why iPhone cameras often have unnatural colors. Moreover the iPhone 8 looked oversaturated, the third image looks awful.

I compared the iPhone 8 Plus camera with a Nexus 5x which has 99% the same image quality as the Pixel in HDR+ On mode. The Nexus 5x had much better dynamic range with HDR+ On than the iPhone 8 Plus with HDR. Moreover the colors of the Nexus 5x with HDR+ were much more natural than the iPhone, for instance when I took a photo of a wooden table. The sky also looks more natural with the Nexus 5x. For instance the sky is grey, but with the iPhone 8 Plus it was blue.

In the old time iPhone superior hardware and innovative feature justify the high price and locked ios but now they just trailing behind android spec and android trailing iPhone prices. Sad.

So much hype about the A11 bionic chip. Milli-seconds faster in real life performance doesnt count as a more enjoyable experience. We need more on the productivity side that is why note8 is still a better option

If you want a picture of someone with an interesting scene behind him, bokeh is pointless. Also, why pay more just to have blurry photos? It's just fashion, I hope. I started watching Handmaid's Tale and the main actress is always so much in focus that the actors behind her might as well be wooden dummies, can't see them. Luckily they don't always use it, but it's annoying.
Anyway, nice hardware, great camera, but still iOS limitations and mono sound in video recordings. Mono. Sound. The same thing I commented last year. Come on, Apple. It's 2017.

Ios 11 on Ip8/8+ is great, but on 5s, 6 or 7 is suck. Why??
