One of my schoolmate owns an Xperia XA and its UI flies, with some stutters that were caused by the weak internal hardware and not the phone's software.
But the SoC on the XA1 series has been proven way better than the one on the XA series, so performance wise, XA1 series is no slouch.

Can anyone testify how fast the chipset is? I like fast non laggy interface, doesn't need too powerful GPU for gaming, and seeking for battery life. Id love to have this xa1 plus, but still not convinced with the UI performance side. If only the xz1 comes with 3200mah.. :(

As for screens not everyone loves AMOLED and LCD is not inferior that's a matter of opinion not fact

Very nice review! I can't wait until this phone is released in my country, totally loving that battery life test.
You should totally update the review once the phone gets Android Oreo to see if the battery life improves some!

Good review, but... It's a midranger, there's is not much midranger that spot bezelless design, yeah there's the LG Qs but look how much compromise that phone have to get the bezelless design

I was eagerly waiting for the review of this smartphone, thank you GSMarena, by the way, this smartphone is a midrange killer, and it is mostly targeting gamers for its fabulous battery life, amazing 5.5 FHD display as usual from Sony king of displays, DJ speakers, good job sony for adding fingerprint scanner, and finally the price is surprisingly cheap especially for a Japanese product, Good job Sony :).

Sony is improving but as long as they stick to their (super) dated design and don't have screens that can rival competitors' OLEDs, they will lag behind.
It's also a real shame that they have never beaten their competitors in the camera department (flagships).

Why no testing of low light camera image quality? It's probably mediocre as it was with other Xperias that used it, but, still, the image quality test is incomplete without it.

One thing that I am not a fan of with their designs is that the corners always jam into my palm.
