Apple iPhone 8 Plus vs. Samsung Galaxy Note8 blind camera shootout

20 October 2017
Those of you following our Facebook page are probably aware that we're working on a camera shootout between the iPhone 8 Plus and the Galaxy Note8. Well, we're getting there, it's just a few finishing touches away from publication and it should go live some time tomorrow.

I got the feeling phone B is note 8 and Phone A is iPh8+ but knowing samsung. the shootouts of the samsung phones always made way-too-lively colors as well.. so a teeny tiny part in me thinks otherwise. let's see tomorrow who wins.

It's plain obvious that the PHONE B is the Galaxy Note 8 due to its dynamic range and the saturation of colors are way ahead than PHONE A which is the iPhone 8 Plus.

Plus, pixels are way better on the PHONE B rather than the PHONE A. The outdoor scene was very hard to vote on, but yea, all of my votes are PHONE B.

It's easy to know that Phone B is the Note 8 as Samsung adds a blurring effect to fight those ugly jagged edges and noise reduction artifacts that Apple seems to love.
The one with the playground I chose Apple (Phone A) as it had more realistic colors and such but the rest is Phone B (Note 8).

Probably one of the toughest blind test shootouts ever.

And I think better samples should have been provided, as some of these scenes, especially the 1st leaf one is really hard to decipher.

Also in the last scene, it's tough to know which one renders realistic colours without actually being there to know which one is right.

I think blind shootouts should just stick to comparing noise, sharpness & detail rather than colour rendering.

2 photos we see iphone as B, so Note is A.
2 photos iphone is A, Note as B.

But is really easy to recognize both , just see the WB.
