Moreover, the removable battery phones are modular: you can replace the stock battery to a 2x or 3x bigger, larger capacity extended battery. You can't do this with non-removable battery phones.

this feels like a step back from the Mi MIX 1, they where so different yet what we wanted, now I feel like they threw themselves into the bunch. The hardware seems a tiny bit off this time.. I hope with their 3rd try they will stand out again (and be a worldwide version) if not im afraid i'll loose interest, and so will many others. :/

Ok, many like porn so demand of dedicated sd card slot is justified. Many can't afford wireless headphones so headphone jack demand is also justified too. But removable battery ? you want your phone to be least water resistant just for removable battery. .....

Downsizing the screen makes it usable by far more people as the original was too big.
Camera is decent when the original was .... disappointing.
Asking price is around 150$ lower than the original when it was launched.
This one is available compared to the original when it was launched.
Overall a great device I would buy if I didn't have the mi6.

Replaceable battery is a scarce commodity nowadays, having a "non-removable" has some benefits as you can fit in larger capacities as contact area on the PCB could be minimized by removing the connector pins for removable battery.
Good compromise is having easily accessible non-removable one, such as with Redmi Note 4 - undo the snaps on the back cover and you're literary there.

It's pathetic that it doesn't have 3.5mm jack nor SD card slot. These are essential features.
You should have to add to the "Main shortcomings" list the non-removable battery. It's an essential feature.
I will never buy such a bezel-less phone anyway. Bezels are useful.

tosshihni, 24 Oct 2017Hi, is Mi Mix 1st for 360$ worth or I better by this one?If you can live with an ok camera and LCD screen then get the Mi Mix (check screen for burn marks in colours and greys), otherwise look at other brands.

I had the Mi Mix 1 for a few months and liked it. I returned because of a burn mark on the LCD.
My biggest grumble was the LCD so i'm dissappointed that there is no OLED.
The camera was my other big gripe and it still looks pretty average.
Aside from that, the 6" 18:9 doesn't appeal to me like the original Mi Mix and the battery life is shocking..
Sorry Xiaomi, there is nothing that tempts me to shift from my S8+ to the MM2.

My battery life of my Mix 2 is way better than my wifes Iphone 7 plus and my previous phone Mi 5(92h)!!!So I think there was something running in the background,GPS maybe?! The battery life is really good for a Snapdragon 835 (at least 6h screen ontime spread over 2 days,or 7,5h spread over one day)!!! I am running MIUI 9 developer(xiaomi.eu)!!!

Seems to me that Xiaomi decided to end this 2017 with the credo `Downgrade`.
First Mi Note 3,now Mi Mix 2...some other models might catch the same train..
Kinda positive thing is,well I hope, that Xiaomi is actually warming up for 2018,and new Mi7 might be something truly great, especially if it stays under $500,we`ll see...
Btw.I`m using Xiaomi phones for few years and they`ve been great, just ordered A1 for my wife, and my Mi6 after 5 months is,well, one word...fantastic!

The first one is still the most interesting-looking phone for me, damn shame it never was worth the ridiculous price.
