Huawei Mate 10 review

The fall may as well be the season of phablets. Apple, LG and Samsung are the usual suspects but Huawei wants in too – as a front-runner, mind you, not an also-ran. Like its illustrious rivals, Huawei is also yielding to the pressure and the new Mate 10 is trying hard to please the fickle crowd.

    Thinking of getting this phone .
    Its the only remaining super size phablet with 16:9 display . The surface of the display is way bigger . Thats what I was looking for .

      LG superfan, 28 Oct 2017Nice phone, camera is nice, ui is featureful and screen is ... more10 pro has a smaller screen with the ridiculous "improved" aspect ratio, so it may have marginally better battery life, but i don't think it's the display that consumes too much battery. Either the chipset or bas software optimization or both.
      Besides, it doesn't even have a 3.5mm jack and is ultra expensive, so totally irrelevant.

        My point of view of this : It's a great phone with keeping some worth-it features like "dedicated" 3.5 mm headphone jack , SD card and upgrading some feature like 1440p / QHD , etc. . It's lacks of some feature like waterproofing , but still , a great phone for a flagship .

          Nice phone, camera is nice, ui is featureful and screen is big everything is great but battery score disappointed me being 4000mah and oreo I was expecting score of around 92hrs since xz1 with smaller battery can get around the same score will see how mate10 pro socres since it has 1080p screen

            By your logic Huawei's battery will be great too, because it has similar results in their review.

Sorry but my usage is excellent. 30 hours on average per charge with everything i can do on it. Far from crap. Although i can understand your frustration that you cannot comprehend efficiency.                 Battery life is far below expectation for 4000 mAh. In general to be perfectly honest I see no reason for Mate 9 owners to switch to Mate 10.

It's sad that you have to chose between a big battery with bad optimizations or small battery with good optimizations. In the end, battery life is still equally crappy.

                    Kirin 970 is no match in efficiency compared to the a11 and sd835. I feel Huawei skip on the Cooper pipe(liquid cooling) to save cost.

There should be no compromise; otherwise, huawei should have just stuck with a 1080p period. Only samsung has definitively shown that QHD doesn't have to sacrifice battery life.

                                        Emui 8.0 has an option to change your res to 1080p or even 720p. Battery performance will be better. If I own the phone, I change right away to 1080p, better battery and gaming performance. Use 2k rarely, maybe just to zoom in some pictures to see more details.
