I don't understand the issues with the video player and saying its a deal breaker? We live in a world of apps, some really great video apps in the app store that will play back any format hardware accelerated (Infuse is my favourite). Just download an app, job done

Case closed. That's the beauty of democracy and free market, I buy and use what I want, and I dont care what's your opinion about it.

Best phone from Apple by a mile. Will really take something spectacular from the competition to catch up especially Qualcomm and Samsung in terms of Soc and the Face unlock feature. Kudos Apple. But its not worthy the ridiculous price tag.

It is meant for the i-fanatics that keep on insisting in threads like these that iphones have the best camera, do not stutter and do not slow down with time, and even say they have good battery life. They are the same people who look down on android owners indirectly implying their iphones are like Ferraris that get bashed despite their superiority. I had to correct that because that is leading to the wrong impression about Android phones.

Phone tech in all flagships has somewhat come to a stand still at least apples hardware is finally better than it's competitors and at least an obvious leap over its last predecessor..

The A11 Bionic is just sick!
Breathtaking scores, it could almost run 999 apps without lag or hiccup.
But it has no proper use on iOS except Animoji and video recording (4K 60fps & 1080p 240fps). This chipset on a Galaxy Note 8 would be perfect

Apple finally bite the bullet and embrace every Android feature they were hesitating to use.
That's great for Apple fanatics, because in just one generation, they gain instant access to all those features they were robbed off up untill now. Great for Android users who were thinking of the apple switch, as it is now more comfortable.
But what it really has to show to the rest? Nothing?
It is the very first time that an iPhone introduces zero new features and it's really sad that it happened bro the anniversary one, they should rather postpone the anniversary edition for later time, so that it can have at least just one new feature to show. Now it feels like they postponed, intentionally to absorve all those widely used android features,so that it will have a dramatic impact on the X. Apple was one of the companies that were producing technology and innovation. The iPhone X is the symbol of adopting technology and hating innovation...

Side bezels are thicker than other iPhones. Check gsma article on that. That's a downgrade

This one is for mass production. Not wholly ceramic like other one since it was too expensive. If iPhone had ceramic I believe they would have breached 1000$ Barrier long ago. That's why they returned to so called fragile glass (that's what you guys called when s6 was glass body)

Here's what I t... moreTrue they are late in design and mono mics are their shame, but at least they are first to bring something new - virtually no bezel, zoom-in tele camera, hi tech face recognition,... With wide oled screen finally. We are yet to see some of that in sony devices, not to mention some new tech everyone can copy after them(besides camera). Own chip, own system... nothing to be embarrassed. Also no mater how shameful mono mic is, with apple you got number of gadgets to use as extension, may be as well case with 4mics.
If sony will follow all these trends, we may see same big jump as with iphones from nonX to X. Cannot wait to see that sony x device, I hope they surprise me.
