I used it for almost 3 years without any issue and still using it. Even the later introduced A models were not water resistant. I was looking a compact size dual Sim Galaxy water resistant with non curved screen (hate curved screen) and finally found this model, it's not 100% flat screen but close enough.

This phone is literally the worst. The phone has a water issue always saying there is water in the port. And it sleeps for weeks or even months. I mean the phone being on but the screen is off. I'm phone less while owning a galaxy a8 and its really pathetic. Does anyone else have this issue?

Considering getting this one or LG Q70. The Q70 looks like a better phone in most ways, but I have small hands and wonder if the size will be an issue.

There are two version of this phone. The A8 (2018) has 2 slot (yes, two slot, not one), one is for a sim card and microSD and another one is for another sim card only.

I have this phone for a year now and the only problem I had is the front camera, I am using the normal mode of it but sometimes when im taking groufies, (group selfies) it only focuses on my face and my friends is blurred at the back im not using the portraimode

This phone is a very good option for the users that want a good and cheap phone. The battery holds up really well in each condition.For social media its a really great choice. For gaming its like meh, you don't want to expect a high performance phone, but games like Brawl Stars, Call of Duty Mobile(low settings), Asphalt 9(low settings), you are going to experience good gaming. The phone is water and dust resistant.The camera is amazing i made photos of such a high resolution, and they look crisp and vibrant. This phone has Gorilla Glass 4, and is very durable.

So, if you feel bad because this phone is not worth your money, buy "not Samsung" phones because Samsung phones are always more expensive than others with the same specs.

I have A8 2018 about a year now, and it's working just fine. No problem at all. I like the build quality of the phone, premium feels like the s-series.
The speakers works fine and loud.
The battery is superb, always have sot 5 hours more.
Camera is really good on daylight conditions, and for lowlight i'm using gcam so that's good.
Fingerprint reader is fast. Face unlock can opened at lowlight cause i set auto brightness.
The cpu not the best, little bit slow when moving application to another but that's ok.
I'm glad to have this compact phone.
I guess it'll work for another year.
