Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) review

11 January 2018
Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) is not a successor to a particular A-series phone. It’s more of a trimmed Galaxy S8 version for the masses with matching design, screen, and the current number 8. Or so Samsung would have us believe.

Pixel density is same of 5" FHD.
    So the 18,5:9 is useless.
    Better make a 5" FHD 16:9 anyway.

Very solid offering. Nothing new but mid rangers aren't the innovators anyway. The price is steep, however, in a few months it should become more viable. Getting this for my mom.

This phone would've been truly mesmerising had it been endowed with more technological trappings.

Huge dissapointment. Nokia 6 or redmi 5 offers way more for the money/performance. They only lack water dust proof.

It is absurd to pay 500 eur for this device. I have no idea what is target audience - you can get S8 at the same price actually and it will drop more as S9 will be released.

First sentence: "Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) is not a successor to a particular A-series phone."

I thought it is the successor to A5 2017, with A8+ being the next A7.

The only thing that might stop people from buying A8 or its bigger brother is because of the price. Other than that, these two are very good devices. :) Snapdragon 660 could have been a good choice but that's okay.
