Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) review

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) is not a successor to a particular A-series phone. It’s more of a trimmed Galaxy S8 version for the masses with matching design, screen, and the current number 8. Or so Samsung would have us believe.

But considering other aspects such as better performance, future proof, 6gb ram on v10, 8gb ram on 5t, 128gb internal memory, AI features on v10, better camera features theres just no point to pick this A8 if its price the same. Thats my opinion.

                Review format is excellent. The phone at it's current price is sadly in a very difficult spot. Comparing it with Honor View 10 or OnePlus 5T doesn't make sense since performance-battery balance and IP6x ratings are things not to be ignored. Wish, Samsung had at least made Exynos on par with SD660. Overall, it really needs a price cut to make sense. Glad that it scores nicely across but price is off mark!

Apart from the design language, the S7 is superior in other respects - in CPU, GPU, camera, and a few features (e.g. wireless charging).

                    I think anyone considering the A8+ in India should only do so if the S7 is out of stock.

Similarly, the A7 (2017)'s 5.7" 16:9 screen has grown to a 6.0" 18.5" screen in the A8+ (2018).

You can get the S7 flat for INR 33500 (flipkart), it doesnt have the infinity display but everything else is better. 5T is great if you dont care with waterproofing.

                                    My Advice to everyone who interested with this phone is to just wait a few months. The price will be significantly reduced so it will be more worth the price. Of course you can always buy samsung previous flagship with little to no guarantee left. Dont buy at the very beginning!

                                        500 Euros is too much for this when the U11 Life and Moto X4 almost did the same things for much cheaper at launch. Sure they didn't have the OLED, but they had the other features. Sure the AnTuTu score is for this matches the outgoing SD 650 series, but both the U11 Life and Moto X4 on the SD 630 compare well and had better GB 4 scores with less RAM. Adreno 510 is the superior GPU. I think it is a good device, but too much money at 500 Euros. 400 Euros, I could see.
