Worse phone I've ever owned. Nothing but issues. Constantly having problems with phone. Always telling me I have 'water in the port', and refuses to charge. Already sent it back once. Now, it alternates between 'water in the port' and 'overheating'. Unbelievable.

I've had the Samsung A8 for two months now. Really happy with the purchase! The battery-life on my Samsung S6 Edge was giving me anxiety, it drained too quickly. The battery life on this A8 is amazing, lasts all day without charging, it also charges very fast. The fingerprint reader is MUCH faster than my S6. The screen is bright and clear, comparable to the top-tier phones. This A8 is fast, powerful CPU and tons of memory. The only downside -- the camera is meh, slow and poor night quality. But I'm not a photographer, I wanted an inexpensive phone, I didn't want to pay $1000 more just to have better photos. Retails for CA$600 w/tax, but I got it for CA$330 brand-new using LetGo (someone received it free from a carrier, but they already have an iPhone). For the price, I'm extremely happy. Huge upgrade from my old phone.

Samsung A8 2018 has lot of defects , specially echo problem cannot be solved any way

Pros: almost none. Cons: way too heavy; fingerprint sensor forgets my fingers after 1-3 weeks (need to rescan); cannot block SMS without number. My previous phone was a Huawei P8 (not Lite), after that, this Samsung is a bad joke.

Actually, iPhone 6S (yours) has different league with Android (i.e Galaxy A8 2018). If you used to use iPhone and have lots apps, it is better to have another new iPhone again. A8 2018 is not a perfect one buthas all features in the good box ticked, not less than good, not more than very good indeed. I used to use Android and Xiaomi, but I am using this as my daily drive now.

It is 2019 already. I am Samsung hater still. This Galaxy A8 2018 is my first Samsung as I need NFC really and I've got a bonus, IP68. No mid-range phones has NFC or even IP68. Honestly, this phone make me falling in love with Samsung Galaxy as long as they keep their UI simple, Android One like and no bloatware/third apps, like A8 2018 did. Just a lttle apps, such as Microsoft apps doesn't bother me. Well, I am still using this as my daily phone and I say good bye, 2018!

As it is so easy to make 99% original which you cannot notice if you do not put both side by side? To make a secure label or even the box.....oh gosh it is a kindergarten job nowadays.

I bought this phone in september when the price got lower and thought it was the best in its class. However there have been several issues, for example the speaker problem which has been there since day 1. Recently there was a software update which has made broken the microphone on the phone, i tried connecting my earphones with built in microphone and still people can not hear a thing. Battery life is unpredictable. Some days screen on time is about 5h with 15h usage and other days screen on time goes up to 9h with 19h usage and I am using 4g network not only wifi.

So, as buyers, make sure that you buy the phone in believable place.

Hi all,
I'm looking to buy this phone over the honor 9 lite, i came across a very common issue reported by users with their brand new A8 cellphones, some even noticing the issue on the very first day. The issue seems to be the stuttering of an audio (basically any sound), when played through the loud speaker. I think this maybe a software issue and can be fixed with the new updates. But no one has been able to find a permanent fix for the problem.

I bought Galaxy A8 2018 in Oct 8, 2018 and already installed in Android Oreo 8.0.0 and Samsung UI 9.0... Am so happy with this as I do not need to install them by myself.

Hi All,
I am very happy with A8. But I am facing one major network issue. Most of the time my network is flapping like no tower. During that time, i wont be able to attend the phone call as well. Its my repeated issue on daily basis. If I am stopping 4G data, the network is coming back properly.

Galaxy A8 is a decent phone.
I'm thankful that I did not choose Nokia 7 Plus, Huawei P20 Lite (Nova 3E) or Huawei Nova 3i. Camera is not bad when it comes to the quality of the image. I can take good pictures and DXO give a score of 79 for the quality which is not bad for a Mid-range phone. Before I bought this, I have my iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 7. I can say that it can compete with these two iPhones. Build quality is also nice. My speaker is working perfectly and it's running with the latest update (Oreo 8.0.0) from UAE. I'm just worrying about the battery because I think the hours for screen time is not enough, maybe we should get 1 or 2hrs extra on batt life but overall, it's pretty well good phone.
