Most of the things they mentioned as things they did n... moreIt's not really subjective to have poor screen usage when the aspect ratio and apps are not making full utility of the screen or if they manage to then they are still being blocked by the notch which isn't subjective, it's logically a bad design choice or at least it has verifiable drawbacks. It may just be less bothersome to some people but ultimately it's not as good as having a full and useful scree space so it's a definite negative. It's like saying a car has a new feature like auto heating windows but it means the windows have annoying heating attachments that obscure your vision, might not bother everyone but it's not a feature without cost.
Between the high cost, the notch, poor use of screen space and (based on what the reviewers said) a face ID that doesn't work in all lighting situations perfectly then we have a few drawbacks of what is essentially a high quality phone but still nothing that is revolutionary and nothing that sets the bar in anything but a little performance tug of war. With the drawbacks it has it's not a bad phone but it's overpriced and if it wasn't for the closed eco system it wouldn't seem so impressive to iphone users either. Is it really that much better than a Samsung galaxy s8?

This is a cool new feature! Keep it going you guys! I rule my phone purchases and decisions based on your reviews and so far I haven't had an issue. I follow you guys since 2003 maybe, it's been 15 years of great advice from you.

Agree with this. I've had the X since launch day and I love it, but it's true that it's not perfect. HOWEVER, all of the quirks are things that can be fixed with a software update. Nothing matches the hardware of the iPhone X right now. Not by a long shot.

Android flagships are excellent phones as well(depends if u ask apple fanbois), as good as apple phones are i cant justify the price for the features im getting. I love apple UI and hardware design, but apple is raping their customers from behind becoz in a lot of ways most android flagship phones are way much better feauture and stability wise than apple. This review just shows that despite paying super premium ( pls dont tell this phone is only fir rich) its no guarantee its zero flaw nor drawbacks.

My main problem is that objectively speaking, it's nothing special. Looking at other manufacturers we have had the wireless charging and bezel-less screen before and done better in some cases. The Iphone manages to be a good all rounder with a general high standard but ... will any android users really want to swap? Will Apple fans realise how little extra is actually included compared to the other iphones (which short of the old design there was little other improvement moving up to the iphone x)?
It's just not a game changer, it's not even gonna be special come the next release of the next set of iphones and when a few android manufacturers copy it. I don't think it's the amazing anniversary they wanted, it certainly garnered enough sales and did just enough to look worthwhile but between the notch, the face ID problems, the huge added expense, the failure to take advantage of the screen space and quite a few other problems it's just a poorly implemented phone that was really just playing catch up (short of face ID which I'd agree with the majority of the reviewers and prefer touch ID anyway) with features already seen elsewhere. It feels like it was more of a way to get their average sale price up and see how far they can push their customers than it was any revolution. Iphone fans who refused to move elsewhere are like hungry dogs being fed new treats, they was bound to salivate at whatever came out but for the rest of the world there was just nothing much to see and that is a bit sad for such an expensive and supposedly special release phone.

How is the 6th(?) all-screen phone, though no phone is all screen right now sadly, after sharp, gionee, xiaomi, doogee and essential "the future"? Also it uses technology from the xbox, so how is this the future? Also they didn't implement fingerprint below the screen...vivo did...how is the X the future? For me it's just another gimmicky overpriced phone.

It's kinda interesting to see how this generation of iPhones divides users.
A lot's of pros, cons and even stupidity packed in one device.
I am really curious, how this generation influences RaD of new models.
Will Apple endure or will they accept some of the user feedback?

AnonD-632062, 19 Jan 2018In short, save your cash....Why? Most of the things they mentioned as things they did not like are pure subjective and I personally don’t agree at all. The ”notch” is no issue at all for me, it a good solution to make use of more of the screen by putting status icons on the side of the sensors. And i really like FaceID, works great for me and I much prefer it to TouchID.
So while its might be interesting to hear what they think after using it for a while its nothing more than an opinion.

So far never tempted towards iPhone X after using Note 8 for sometime especially on the premise that it is apprx $400-600 more than Note 8 in my place. Bigger screen,Samsung Pay, bigger Ram, SPen, dual hybrid SIM/expandable storage.....I have no loyalty towards any ecosystem hence OS and other aspects do not matter as such.
