Apple iPhone X long-term review

18 January 2018
The introduction of Face ID and the removal of the Home button has resulted in a paradigm shift in the way we interact with our iPhones. Three of us have been using the iPhone X since launch and this long-term review covers what the iPhone X is like to live with on a day to day basis and we are ready to answer what's good and what's bad about it from a different perspective.

Thesis86, 19 Jan 2018Apple die hards are better off with the 8 or 8 Plus. The X ... moreNo, X is lot better, in my opinion 8 is just waste of money, and you won't get much for return. X gives you whole new experience and it feels very fresh after all these boring mobile years.

Going from the galaxy s7 to the google pixel and now having the iPhone X , this is the first and only phone where I can honestly say I can’t find a flaw, no issues with their new gestures at all , 48 hrs and I’m not even thinking about how to do what, I actually find it slightly easier to navigate though as opposed to android and a lot more fluid , Face ID not perfect but damn close and not enough to bother me, maybe at night when ur lying down 1 in 10 you’ll have to use the passcode.if that but yeah at least Face ID is a different direction in let’s face it a staling android pack
Only gripe yeah it’s expensive, and Apple charging for fast charge and maybe the glass back but price is also subjective having said that I’ve never had a phone that performs so highly in EVERY single aspect and I would not swap it for any other phone currently on the market, wouldn’t even flirt with the idea .. and this whole ip8 is the better choice ? If you don’t have a problem with the Xs price you’ve got to be kidding me.. as every other single review of the x states the best iPhone to date by far, including the 8

Apple die hards are better off with the 8 or 8 Plus. The X is just smh.

Facial recognition, as done by Apple is more secure, period.

This review actually makes me believe that my decision to buy iPhone 8 plus has been a good one. While the design is a step into the future, it is not ready for prime and definitely not enough for me to part of £1000.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2018Android 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 had face unlock. Why treat X like... moreBecause the Android implementation of face unlock was insecure and generally useless.

Apple's implementation works really well and it's more secure than a fingerprint scanner.

I honestly still can understand how is possible that someone could have spended even a penny in this phone. Perhaps it's because it's the most expensive that Apple has... I see it absolutely horrendous from any angle. If this is the base for future Apple's phones, don't count with me.

It would be interesting to know if Apple did a survey among its customers to promote this tacky design above other candidates.

Revert means going back, no need to say revert back. (Last page)

And liked the long term review, good job. The points mentioned under annoyances I completely agree with, especially face ID being less practical than fingerprint reader.

People have to remember that this is Apple's first attempt with this phone design, so of course it has major/ a lot of flaws. You don't buy the first product, you wait for the 3rd or 4th. This is when the company knows what its doing.
