This S9 phone going to be forgettable in next few months for such
uninspired battery life performance and same design as S8.
Lets wait next upper middleranger (SND670/700) with better power eficiencies
and reasonable price.
S9 definately not in my 2018 list.
bye bye sammy. Your product quality not exceeding $800 price tag.

There is a high level of noise, I wonder how GSM missed that.

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2018Samsung had fps video well before Sony in 2010. Plus it was... moreAny phone records videos with a specific fps. Clearly your argument doesn't make sense.
Samsung only had it first because they made smartphones earlier than Sony. Otherwise, Sony has been making fantastic video cameras way before Samsung was a big thing.
Samsung only has the advantage of Automatic detection because of a slightly better SoC. But in my testing, it wasn't consistent and didn't work the first time I've tried it. I didn't give it another shot due to the limited time of me testing the phone, but one thing is, the quality is amid at best. At least Sony has FHD option for it to be more usable than plain 720p, which appears lower than what the resolution says.
Many people had the XZ Premium and it only took them a little bit of practice to get things right, and the final results were amazing. Samsung is just following Sony with this path.

I still haven't seen any reviews on the heart rate/blood pressure monitor. I've seen the article that says the s9 can measure your BP optically now, that's a first for any smartphone.

Hayaan Mo Sila, 12 Mar 20181. Sony has taken slow motion into the next level. Besides,... moreSamsung had fps video well before Sony in 2010. Plus it was a first for Samsung. And Sony copied this technology from Samsung. In 2018, Samsung does 960fps far better than Sony with automatic detection and start function. Go and read gsmarenas review of Sony where it states that its extremely hard to function, due to manual function only in 2018 models. Stop trolling here and go to your Sony forum

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2018No, Samsung has been doing FPS video for 9 years now, and S... more1. Sony has taken slow motion into the next level. Besides, neither Sony nor Samsung was first with slow motion. But Sony was more intelligent to innovate earlier. Samsung had no choice but to borrow the technology, and introduced some new things to not sound like an exact copy paste.
2. Auto function on the S9 doesn't work consistently. I tried it once with my shaking hand and it didn't even work, though to be fair, my hand was very big from the square, but it should have detected some motion still.
The manual way on the Sony is way trickier and harder, but a little bit of practice and it will be an ease taking videos. 720p, on the other hand, is utterly unusable, so FHD at least makes some sense for it.

AnonD-75440, 11 Mar 2018960 FPS copied from Sony Xperia XZ Premium No, Samsung has been doing FPS video for 9 years now, and Sony just copied Samsung
Plus Samsung has AUTOMATIC 960fps that is actually useful. Sony only has manual, which means 9/10 times you will miss that great shot.

[deleted post]You must have forgotten that this is reality where that wad never once true. The iPhone has never once been the best or most innovative device.
Always just lived off the tech of others

xXENDER FREAKXx, 11 Mar 2018Yep, Mali GPUs are weak. They have improved a lot over the ... more Completely bogus as false. Not only are you saying that the Mali sucks even though they are pretty close just because it's not as good.... But also claim it's always been that way.
In s1, s2/note 1, and note 2 the exynos gpu was better.
In the note 4 and s6/note 5 the gpu was better by much better sustained performance.
In the s8/note 8 the exynos gpu trade good blows.
In the s9 and probably note 9 the Mali g72 might not be quite as good but is by no means bad or ever fast behind. Especially not by the same margin the exynos is ahead in cpu.
Besides of course. G72 is just a refinement to g71 and they took out two cores and didn't play with clock speed much. Probably to help with heat for the cpu. Where as the adreno 630 is in the next serious up from the 500s and a great increase. The next Mali update should being great enhancements too.
Try using logic next time.
As well as the exynos is just about always had the superior cpu... however in s1 where gpu and SoC was overall better snapdragon had a better gpu.
And we all know that exynos is generally more efficient too.
And has superior audio except for s2 where they used crappy yamaha dac.

Ultra boring phone!
I'm not a hater of Samsung believe me, I have had S5, Note Edge (Which I loved) and currently own S7 edge( Which is still going very strong, kudos to Samsung for a great overall build and stability over the last 2 years) But infortunately the S9 is not worthy of a replacement for my S7 edge, it has no wow factor. I predicted slow sales and from what I gather that has come to fruition unfortunately since I like Samsung.
