Samsung Galaxy S9 review

It's true what they say - you don't fix what's not broken. And that's what Samsung did for the Galaxy S9 - it didn't change what was already great, it just tweaked specs wherever possible. And it has worked out just fine for them.

And then in the comparison with the slider it looks like both have exactly the same halos. Lucky if you get a SnapDragon model. Then you can adjust this in third-party camera apps.

        Here's a tip: try owing an S9 for a few days, then come back and tell us its flaws instead of looking at specs and imagining what it's like to use.

          Like worse ram management (slower phone). 78h of battery life instead of 97h, fingerpring on the back (useless when on a table).

          You conveniently sidestep those, but downgrading performance, ergonomy and autonomy is not a small deal and unless one is dying for a good mobile camera it is really worse deal, even if they were both selling for the same price.

          Samsung peaked with S7E. Ever since it is a dumpster fire.

              Wrong 2: I said S7E, i.e. exynos version, which is very similar in performance even to newest Qualcomms. Qualcomm is 1-2 generations behind the rest of the world

              True: S9 is better at gaming

              True 2: It has a better camera, which IMO is the only reason to buy over S7E.


              *But* it has lethal problems (that you forgot to mention).

              Weird aspect ratio that still doesn't play with majority of apps.
              Useless fingerprint sensor (can't unlock the phone whilst on a table anymore)
              Far worse battery (78h vs 97h).

              A solid step back in most things that matter (apart from camera).

              So , no, S9 is a terrible choice for those who are not heavily invested into mobile photography. S7E is obviously better. There is a reason why S7 sold almost twice as much as S8 (and probably would sell as much as s8 and S9 combine when all is said and done)

                    And what's so bad that none of the upgrades in the s9 count? Because it doesn't have physical home button? Or because preliminary battery tests of only one processor version dropped a few points??? Seriously??

                      Anonymous, 13 Mar 2018One where it uses stats and numbers You won't buy an S7E... moreThe display is better, the SoC is a a lot better either version... even the s835 is a good upgrade over s821..., the camera is a lot better which is one of the most important upgrades for some people, the software is a nice update, with the new SoC comes better audio chips and image processors, the stereo speakers are some of best on phones right now and great upgrade over the ok single one in the s7 edge....etc.

                      The s9/+ are definitely a decent upgrades over the s7 and edge.
                      I don't know what you're issue is. They ever said they are already using an s7 so why is it bad the want an s9 over an s7 edge? The only upgrade they would get out of the s7 edge is the exact same phone with bigger screen and battery...

                                  Sony sold its first mobile phone in 2002. The Sony Ericsson T68i. After joining with Ericsson and copying the earlier Ericsson T68 model.

                                  Sharp made the first camera phone.

                                  Samsung started fps video in 2010. Sony copied this technology later. And in 2018, Samsung is better with this technology according to gsmarena.

                                  I never said that Samsung is the Best, Stop Lying. I said Samsung’s 960fps is better than Sony. Read the report from gsmarena about Samsung and Sonys 960fps video below. Samsung is clearly better with its automatic start function. Gsmarena is the worlds most respected mobile phone site for over 16 years.

                                    no Saving mode or power reduction addons are added. So in GENERAL yes. you MAY be correct. but not 100% of the time.

I know it's not better than S8's 84h rate (7.26% less endurance.) but it's not that noticable anyway. besides. you need to understand that the fact HERE it's 78h doesn't mean it'll always score like that.

                                        If S7E was a modern phone everybody would call it better for all the reasons I said. In aome companiies evolution moves sideways. By buying the S9 you ensure buying a worse phone. Haha, good luck!
