There are far better options out there , esp phones with S625 will perorm better in normal everyday use.

Goes to show how badly optimized Kirin 659 is.. performance is decent but everything else is just far behind Qualcomm...

Despite these "niggles" that you mention still think this is one of the best mid range options out there for the price.....

This type of review is the most useful and informative. The auto dimming "bug" was already there in Huawei P10 (or even models before that!) but no review mentioned about it. That is why I don't believe in short-term reviews anymore. It's super annoying that I sold the phone away. I heard it was purposely done by Huawei to save battery. That's a low skill technique! In that case, Huawei is a pretender of competing with the likes of Samsung and Google.

This phone definitely better than samsung/lg mid range phone. As a daily driver , it's more than just passable. It has great audio and usable features. But some people might cant stand the "horrible" low-light photos....

the kirin 655 in early '16 in the p9 lite was ok but exactly the same chip 2 whole years after, with a gpu inferior even to a Helio P10, is no more than a joke

This phone costs the same as Samsung J7 2017 and it should be compared to phones like this not pixels,.mates pro etc...

So are you comparing a mid-range/budget device that costs about 250euros with flagship devices in terms of use... OK.

Bought one for like 220 Euro 4 gb version for my girlfriend.. Runs ok. Screen is ok. Camera so an so.. good for the price. Great build quality. Ok battery.. but that Huawei skin is just not for me. M makes the phone a little laggy and the way it handles memory, sometimes randomly closing apps in the background.. not for me

Yeah loads of the points here were true but hopefully it will be fixed in the upcoming EMUI 8 and Oreo update. And I do wish it just had a better Kirin processor and took better low light photos (That might be fixed in the EMUI 8 update). Other than that, I really like this phone and I don't hate EMUI as much like other people.

Nearly perfect. Just wished
1 - Screen's minimum brightness was even lower (I've seen it in person already and it was quite dim, but it can be dimmer still)
2 - GPU is much better. Its CPU performance is good to great, but its GPU is average, to the point where such games like Rules of Survival will stutter a lot. I'm not expecting iPhone X performance but a better GPU is certainly appreciated, given the similarly priced Xiaomi Mi A1 can play the same game so smoothly.
Would rate this phone 9.5/10.
