My guess is the Phone B is Huawei. It's their characteristics to oversharp the images. But it leads to purple fringing which I really hate

I think the best picture for scene 5 was taken from the camera of Sony XZ2 based on the comparison of Samsung Galaxy S9/+ vs XZ2 in previous article of this site.

The pictures of phone A are looking more natural than phone B.

If you've voted for phone B in any of these tests, you are what's wrong with the world today.
What a nightmarish mess of low quality optics and shocking processing.

The phone B is probably the Huawei. Overprocessed photos and faded colers. It manages to show less noise but that's all

Before even looking at the photos I say that this will be easy because of the famous "yellow cast".

Phone B definitely P20P. You can see from its pink/purple tint and over done everything. But where is the night/lowlight shot? Want to see that comparison also.

Phone A won undisputed by a large margin. Natural textures and superior resolution.
Phone B is a blotchy mess, both too soft and too oversharpened, as well as plagued by purple fringing

The purple fringe is very strong in phone B, it could be undestandable in the corners, but I can see it in almost every picture. Also colors don't look very natural in B.

AnonD-632062, 09 Apr 2018Phone A, FTW! Can't believe all these people are voting for... moreI can't agree more!
I was surprised by the amount of votes for the "B phone" on some pictures. Some pictures are really bad. But the colors are eye catching, and I guess it's the reason why some people are voting for it, without looking at the real picture, the elements that make them great and stand out.
The amount of bad elements I noticed on this phone (B) for its claimed "range" (even if it is the 1020) is not good.

After checking all the details all over the pictures, phone A is the clear winner here.
Phone B just loses too much detail all over the place and it smoothens out textures instead of preserving all the scratches and bumps etc.
Clearly people who voted for phone B rarely take any pictures of any kind.

I think the photos should be randomized in each comparison so it isn't easy to guess which one is from what phone.

I voted A, A, B, B, A. I hope it was in random order and not always the A to be one of the phones and B the other. That's how it is done in phonearena and it brings interesting results.

I go for Lumia 1020 as being better.
That said, I still own my Nokia 808, only use it for photos, best camera phone ever made till this day. Still unbeaten!

40MP of Huawei are interpolation. The supremacy of Nokia lenses is obvious in the resolved detail and lack of chromatic aberrations. When used in raw mode, the 1020's pictures are incomparable better.
