Completely wrong. It is clear that gsmarena didn't understand the purpose of a Quad Bayer sensor back then. The main purpose has always been: getting two cameras within one camera, a high resolution camera and a low resolution camera.
But a high resolution sensor needs more light for a good signal to noise ratio at pixel level. It also takes longer to read out the full resolution mode and it also takes longer to process, so there is less time available for capturing multiple frames and therefore it can happen that not enough light is captured. Furthermore, the Quad Bayer color filter array can produce artifacts, many manufacturers couldn't handle the artifacts. Due to these issues, several manufacturers couldn't really leverage the high resolution mode of the Quad Bayer sensor and therefore some journalists as well as gsmarena spread misinformation that the purpose of a Quad Bayer sensor was better low resolution photos, even though manufacturers often didn't use the Quad Bayer HDR algorithm, which can produce artifacts, too.

Seems a bit pointless arguing over a 5 year old phone.
In any case, the OIS is disabled because the massive issues involved in combining images from 4 lenses was not feasible.

Back then, some journalists just expected that there would be OIS and didn't look at the official specifications. Ifixit only assumed that there is OIS hardware inside. It was speculated that it was disabled by Huawei, if there were really elements of OIS hardware. According to Huawei's official specifications, the main camera did not have OIS.

So, the P20 Pro main camera does not have OIS. Huawei even never confirmed that there are elements of OIS hardware inside.

Been using it for over 2yrs and its still as fast as lightning and battery is still at 93% health after all the usage I have give this phone now that is special.
I am still waiting for the latest android up date which is arriving shortly am told, and then I am going to try and get another year or two out of it.
Well done Huawei.

Great phone upgraded from samsung and its paid off the battery is awesome and charges 45% in half a hour. 128gb more memory to fill.
