Huawei P20 Pro review

12 April 2018
Huawei was among the front-runners in the dual-camera race with the P9 and then the Mate 10, so who better to take things to the next level? The Huawei P20 Pro one-ups all current major players and comes with three cameras on its back, each unique in its own right.

Gsmarena also doesn't criticize that Huawei's multi frame noise reduction (called "Night mode") is slow because it takes multiple seconds. Google's HDR+ is basically the same technique and also improves the low light performance dramatically. But when the Nexus 5x/6p were released, all people (including gsmarena) complained that HDR+ is slow (maybe ≈ 0.5 seconds) whereas it is much faster than Huawei's Night mode. Strange logic!

Bad review, it doesn't answer the question whether 4k video with the tele is possible. It also doesn't mention that 5x zoom isn't really better than 3x zoom. And they didn't cover the monochrome camera in order to show whether it really helps in low light. And the studio comparison doesn't include the 10 megapixel mode. And they make things up like that Huawei uses the HDR technique of the sensor although Huawei never confirmed this. The Sony sensor of the first Google Pixel also can take HDR photos without multiple frames, but Google doesn't deploy the technique.

The Mate 10 is exactly half the price atm so I don't know how crazy you must be to spend £800 on a 1080p phone in 2018.

Are you guys planning to add the 10mp mode to the Photo Compare Tool? Looks like only the 40mp mode is in there right now...

porkataBG, 12 Apr 2018So only FHD amoled display(i know its enough, but hey, this ... morejust buy oneplus 5t. the only thing that is new to this phone is having 3 camera.

So only FHD amoled display(i know its enough, but hey, this is a very expensive PRO model).
Not good audio quality(i don't get it,every flagship should deliver more than decent).
Not good video recording(this is strange, but it is a fact).
Old gen SOC(still powerful, but again its old gen)
Its the best photos(they are the best really) enough to justify the price?
Should i choose this instead oneplus 5T while keeping the rest of my money?
