Oppo R15 Pro review

15 April 2018
The Oppo R15 announcements was tainted by a massive media charade. Between the OnePlus 6 guesses and keywords clickbait, it was a tough job to see what the Oppo R15 really was. Especially when the R15 name was nowhere to be found. So, today we'll try to correct this wrong by taking you on an adventure with one of China's latest fashion icons.

Nzi97, 15 Apr 2018Micro usb?At least with micro usb I can still use the 2 or 300 adaptors, leads or earphones I have hanging around the house.

Anonymous, 07 May 2018OnePlus are Oppo R series with a better SoC and no SD slot. Please, those are not the only difference. Oneplus offers one of the most developer friendly software, and one of the lightest too. Oneplus' bootloader can also be unlocked easily in one step, enabling us to install custom roms which optimize the experience further.

Oppo are heavily themed rendering it impossible to be recognized as Android. Its UI are not as optimized as Xiaomi's MIUI resulting in lags and hiccups. I do not see any reason to choose an Oppo device at this rate.

Xiaomi, Huawei and Oneplus are doing a much better job at the budget and midrange tier compared to Oppo. If you want to go Chinese, go with either of those three.

ducle2502, 20 Apr 2018Yeah exactly my point: Oppo phones are overpriced knock-off... moreOPPO is always like that dude, their marketing gimmicks are meant to attract the low-end and mid-end market, to make those people buy, the ones who usually fall for their tricks the easiest are those who don't know anything about technology at all, no offense but, clearly most of the buyers of their smartphones are like that. Their marketing gimmicks, always calling themselves Selfie Expert with the Beauty AI for their cameras, urgh, seriously, it is like when people want the most natural photos possible this brand tries to use filtering as if it is anywhere close to "realism". Besides, in most of the forum sites or news, there isn't anything u hear about OPPO regarding software updates, this is what they had done for years already, while some blind fans of theirs argue that they don't care about software updates, it is still essential for software updates even if it is a minor one like bug fixes or Security Patches, u never know what kind of bug or vulnerability is hiding behind your software. If I were to recommend mid-end smartphones, I'll recommend Sony, SAMSUNG (Even though they are slow with updates, at least they did update their mid-end smartphones at least once), HUAWEI, NOKIA, or Motorola, at least they offer software updates for a little cheaper or a little expensive in price

Oneplus is doing a much better job albeit they came from the same parent company. These Oppo phones just copy the design and throw a chunk of money into marketing to make they seem good, but they don't. So I advise people not to fall for the marketing gimmicks.

Disappointing to see the mid- low end CPU's being used.. I was a fan of Oppo, but now they're just mid-rangers..

Well,it seems that both of these Oppos (or the new 1+6) are good phones with some decent specs. They look cool, and as GSMA said those are very trendy chinese products...but to call them midrangers, for the price??I mean,510euro($630) for R15 Pro will get you a proper flagship devices...S8,U11,Mate 10,and so on,so aside from beautiful colour options I don`t think they are worth the $$$...
