Running out of single-digit numbers in its ever-growing portfolio, the reborn Nokia has started adding words - the high-end Nokia 8 Sirocco is worthy of an iconic moniker from the past, while simpler phones only get a 'plus', with a lowercase 'p' at that! But the Nokia 7 plus isn't looking half-bad - capital 'P' material at least.

    Any news about Radio FM?

      I like Nokia but find it so annoying that they refuse to put a notification light in anything.

      It is something many find useful and practical at a glance.

It is their fault for wanting to complicate all to distinguish themselves from others when in fact they tend to make it heavier, slower and less familiar against Android Stock, except for some occasions where they do add some useful features.

So here we are talking of mid-premium phones that cost like the last year phones and not an average mid-range ones. Of course, it'll depend of where you live and if you need pay taxes. But it worth buy the last year flagship even with carriers, they usually include some of them before being discontinued. It is in your hand to choose the right moment to buy and where to buy it or from which carrier.

          Nokia 7 Plus Global 4-64 Gb 399 euros
          Huawei Mate 10 4-64Gb, better SoC, better camera 417 euros
          Asus ZenFone 4 Pro 6-128Gb, better SoC, better camera, more RAM and ROM, 425 euros
          Honor View 10 4-64Gb 327 euros, View 10 6-128Gb, better SoC, similar camera 399 euros
          Samsung Galaxy S8 4-64Gb, the most expensive can be found for 453 euros, only 54 more than the Nokia 7 Plus.

          All prices are from physical and online stores, but operators still offer some of them at a good price with their plans.

          It's easy to find those prices if you use a search engine like "Kimovil" or visit the operators' pages looking for the flagships of the previous year.

          All this, is for those who value getting the most for their money or do not want to spend too much on the last model that usually comes overpriced and you pay for the novelty, the change of design, updates, etc. The latest flagships and mid-range premium phones are more for those who change phone every year because they have the latest design innovation and pay whatever is necessary without caring much how much they cost.

              Anonymous, 22 Apr 2018If the manufacturer use heavy customization... no it is not... moreIn that case, they themselves generated the problem so, if they are unable to update fast enough their phones, they should blame themselves for complicating things, especially for the UI that is usually the main reason, they complicate everything unnecessarily to differentiate themselves when what they usually do is make the UI more complex and slower.

                The Nokia 7 plus does not have an fm radio like the specs on gsmarena suggest. This is what Nokia had to say:

                Thank you for contacting Nokia Mobile Care team.

                Regarding your inquiry kindly be advised that the Nokia 7 plus hasn't got an inbuilt FM radio receiver.
                However there is nothing to worry about as you will still be able to listen to your favorite radio stations. You can do this by using a radio app from Google Play Store. Keep in mind however that you will require mobile data or wifi in order to do this.

                          This is a good starting year to see what future plans each brand has or its interest in satisfying customers. Many will make the excuse of having been busy updating to Oreo but once adopted this system with dedicated partitions, not like the case of OP 5 and 5T, they will have no excuse not to give better support over time other than wanting to sell new models leaving old ones obsolete.

                          It is clear that for the future whoever buys a new phone with Oreo and Treble should take into account the support of updates that may be received, but it is one more data to analyze from Q4 this year or next when it is fully extended in the new models and those that they have decided to upgrade from Nougat.

Now that with Oreo + Project treble + Android One, updating the device is as complex as copy and paste the update sended by Google in the right folder and done with, perhaps, few tweaks if you have pesonalized something which will mean a modification of the original something that customers that want Android One don't like . The apps and features added by the vendor are now in a separated folder so the old hardwork adaptation and recode is gone.

So assuming both have 2 years of update, a flagship from last year would have to cost 50% of this phone in order to be competitive, as you'll have to replace it next year. (if the N7+ actually gets 3 years of security updates, it's still a better option as long as it is less than 3 times more expensive).

Probably, cause kids this days have to really say something, not that is education, not that is important, but, has to be up their with them selfies on facebook.

The mobiles with 821 are much cheaper today than this Nokia 7 Plus. You have to compare that you can get for the same price. And looking is easy to see that for the price of this phone you can buy others with SD835 and Kirin 970 last year, both with better features than the SD660 that came out last year and the best thing is that with better cameras at the same time. It is one thing to be a fan of a brand and want a particular model and another is to be blind and not know how to buy something better with the same money.
