I don't see it as very negative, given how high it places in sunlight legibility and contrast ratio. You get what you pay for with the price.

These new chips are nowhere near as efficient as manufacturers like to claim. My phone has a last gen SD435 with a 4000mAh battery & I get well over 12 hours browsing. Admittedly it's a 720P screen, but this thing should be eating it alive

For all you haters on this phone (looking at you Don Alex and brandstifter), find me another $500 phone that has Bluetooth 5, FM radio, a headphone jack, and USB type C, then we'll talk.

AnonD-733422, 23 Apr 2018As I said before 2 months- Xiaomi Mi note 3 is much better ... moreWell, that is probably cause nobody cares what you think or claim. You have nothing but an opinion. Only the stuck android and design and the experience uppon this device is builded are more worthy then all xiaomi together. But i do not get the struggle, what's your problem? You like xiaomi micipoc mic toc mno, oneplus fivehundred, cicopico?. Buy them, who's stoping you? In the meantime, get a gripp. You need it.

Cons:
- too big
- no water protection
- locked bootloader
Pros:
- everything else
The first two cons ruin this phone to me. But for somebody who doesn't leave their room it might be an excellent option.

MKL, 22 Apr 2018Samsung S8 and other devices you listed, are they going to ... moreYou'll see from previous posts on this pager that I bought an Xperia Z1 about a year and half ago.
It never rcvd a single update and still runs quite well considering its ancient snd 800 soc and puny 2GB RAM. Storage is almost full as well and has no security issues.
Updates are good, but these monthly updates are just a cure for tech geeks OCD

A year and half ago I thought the Moto G was a good deal. Probably was, but it looked like a rip off compared to a 120 usd Xperia Z1. Even the much improved Z3 was cheaper than the Moto.

In my country:
Huawei Mate 10 4-64Gb - you can only buy Pro and Lite versions, standard Mate 10 not available!
Asus ZenFone 4 Pro 6-128Gb - 6 months after release still not available on the market, and launch price was 530€ if GSMArena data is correct.
Honor View 10 4-64Gb/6-128Gb - 4-64 version not available, cheapest 6-128 costs 495€.
Samsung Galaxy S8 4-64Gb - price is in a range 550-600€!
Nokia 7 Plus 4-64 Gb available for 399€ - best option at the moment!

Carl Key, 22 Apr 2018It depends of the mid range phone... because in this case s... moreSamsung S8 and other devices you listed, are they going to get updates as long as N7+ will get? Nope. I wish to keep my phone for at least two years. And your listed phones manufacturers won't support those devices anymore. So options are limited and at this point N7+ seems only choice besides pixel devices.
