Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium review

The third-gen Premium comes with Sony's first dual camera, a larger 5.8-inch display that is still 4K, and a due upgrade in the internals, all in a chunky package. Let's see if the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is worthy of its name.

[deleted post]Now that you mentioned XZ2, its samples actually look better than XZ2P in good light, which is puzzling. Check them for yourself.
I admit Sony made an improvement in XZ2, but they somehow regressed in XZ2P.

      Samsung makes the objects white idk is it the exposure or the contrast is high ?? but the Sony shows a more detailed picture with a little noise being there.

            Beside the iPhone has a lower resolution than the 4K phone specially when you go to the youtube. The higher PPI drains the battery but Sony is much better than him.
            And honestly it, depends on the person who holds the phone and how they use them.
            But this thing you post is a number that can be played with like the iphone's chip is stronger and faster but the qualcomm ones and other chips are faster and stronger and Apple's chips

                    There. 81 hr battery endurance for iPhone 8Plus vs 77 hr for XZ2P, despite a much smaller battery,

                        Sony Xperia XZ2 doesn't have that oversharpen. But a little because to show details because there is a noise and honeslty the XZ2 beat the galaxy S9+
                        I saw the pictures in this XZ2 P and there is no over sharpening
                        Sony the most natural of them all.
                        If you look at the P20 Pro, you think it has a cinematic effect and the S9 is same.

                          But all flagship phones nowadays oversharpen its image just for the sake of media sharing for it too looks good.

                              Sony has higher resolutions than the iPhone and shows the better then your precious iPhone, so you check your facts.

                                Lol they try the very best to be unprejudice in this review, even dont put the star rating. The way i see it, yes it got great cameras, only letdown by the oversharpening causing the phones to have more noise than competition (for better detail of course). The problem is, that oversharpening sometimes goes too far that leaves pictures have a lots of unwanted artifacts. Design of the phone itself? Not at my interest.

                                Funny thing is, every website or youtube regarding Sony Xperia phones must have this 'Sony is best', 'Sony is king'. Please, even i'm a sony fan but stop becomes a blind fanboy and accept the facts that this phone has it flaws. The way i see it, main selling point of this phone is the camera. And the camera is still not the best. Daylight, great performance but letdown by the not so excellent dynamic range and that oversharpening sometimes cannot be recover. Low lights, very very good but still plagued by the classic sony blown highlights (P20 Pro still wins). Videos? Great low light, EIS and HDR but Samsung's OIS stabilization is better. And fanboy must says, manual mod sony wins. Dude, if other phones is better in auto mod, definitely it'll be better than sony in manual mod too, sony even dont have the RAW implementation to go with.

                                  Anonymous, 28 Aug 2018How about having details without noise? The noise under goo... moreI know Sony has the noise but it shows more details and in the YouTube videos I saw Sony didn't have that disturbances in the pictures or the videos.
                                  Sony is doing less things like no OIS and getting a lot of details in pictures and videos.
                                  In the future Sony must design a processor can cancel the noise.
                                  So in that it will kill the other cameras

                                    The battery life...

                                      This is an embarrassment of a flagship. That display is disgustingly weak despite a 4k boast, that battery life is less than subpar in 2018, that form factor isn't ergonomic (curved back really?), and that price is criminal. No wonder sony is not even top 10 globally. Pathetic company is pathetic.

                                        Why don't you make test of recording length? It's taking a mick that you're trying to make video (1080p 60fps) on holiday and after few minutes phone is overheating. I'm not from North of Norway and I'm spending my holidays on the beach so I wish to make some of videos of my kids. All this 4k, hdr is useless if you can record 1 minute of video.

                                        Beach essentials: bucket of ice for mobilephone?

                                        To everyone who complain on camera: buy small compact camera like old lumix tz10 for pennies and no mobilephone gonna beat it.

                                        Can you tell me what's your recording time (warm mobile from pocket) of 1080p 60fps please?

                                        I have hope that xz3 gonna be smaller
