Sony Xperia XZ3 hands-on review

30 August 2018
Sony has always had its own, rather unique approach to mobile design. Whether you liked the boxier look of old, favour the curves of the new "Ambient Flow" concept or don't really find either appealing, it is hard to ignore one irrefutable accomplishment of the Japanese design team - continuity.

QHD Pentile OLED.
Curved Screen.

2 things that Sony fans hate about Samsung and now Sony applies these 2 things.
Very Ironic XD

This is very interesting, I am looking forward for GSMArena's review of this device. The OLED panel seems to be better that those found in LG 30 and Pixel 2XL, there was no shifting colors when viewed in different angles based on the pictures provided. Great work GSMA! Keep it up and thanks for the photo samples provided for our eyes.

Looks like a samsung phone from upfront just cover the sony logo underneath and voila...

It seems that Sony addressed the problem with overexposed highlights and light sources in lowlight. That´s a great development and lets hope that not only some review units behave like that.

Now sony also want to make money by attracting dumb rich people like apple and Samsung with features mix of them like design, curved edged display, no 3.5mm jack, pricing, same camera with softwares changes, low battery .... What a sad day to see sony doing this...

Should have had a headphone jack. If it had a headphone jack, I would have bought it

Thumbs up for GSMarena! They deliver camera samples, even lowlight samples. That´s what I want to see as user. Other sites only write something about the phone and its camera without showing samples. Thank you and keep up your great work.

It´s a huge improovement over the XZ2, yet Sony can´t match the same bezel design of Samsung or others... Gourgeous front display, ugly back.

Right now seems like sony is floating on their own baloon, they couldn´t care less of user opinions or other trends.

This is without any doubt the finest phone Sony has made in recent years. It's not perfect by any means but it's pretty good nonetheless.

So , that's why now XZ3 is getting the OLED display this IFA .

If Sony do release another Compact devices again this quarter , the loss of XZ3 Compact (if exist) would bigger than XZ2 Compact , as people would questioning the reason .

Congratulations on finally adopting the OLED technology, Sony. It is a wise move and one that will definitely make an OLED and Sony lover like me seriously consider the XZ3. Now please consider adding OIS to your phones as well. It will make your very good cameras, brilliant. Bring back the 3.5mm jack also with a good DAC to boot?

Finally a new beautiful Xperia. I believe that specs and screen quality are as good or superior as S9+.
                                      Let's wait for final review.
