Nokia 5.1 Plus review

8 Oct 2018
The Nokia 7.1 may have a dual camera and a tall-aspect screen like the Nokia 7 Plus, but otherwise, the new phone is a thorough update of its predecessor. It adds a faster processor, a bigger HDR-capable PureDisplay, better cameras, better build, modern design while retaining the reasonable price, the wide availability, and the Android One experience.

'The reality is, Android One was never quick to get updates and while it's still quicker than most OEMs, it's nowhere as quick as the Pixel series or even some OEMs like OnePlus."

How quick do you want, ed**or?? It's not iOS. Quick doesn't mean good and possibly less testing. Look at Pixels with charging issue (which got fixed later) after the so called "QUICK" software update by Google.

3/32 variant is still strong on my country.
    Why bother?

This review also has lacking those audio and battery tests.

    LOL

I am wondering why gsmarena is downgrading its review quality. This is not detailed review. I know this device is reviewed outside of ur lab but u can have some temporary tools to make your review interesting and complete. These reviews don't seems like an expert's review.

This seems like a pretty poor review by gsmarena standards. Where are the audio tests? battery tests? display measurements?
For the price this seems fairly reasonable, and the build quality of the Nokias that I've played with has been head-and-shoulders above the other stuff competing in this price bracket.
On a general note, I'm glad to see the octo-A53 chips are finally dying off in the mid-range devices. They never gave a particularly good user experience and these newer 4+2 and 4+4 designs are a welcome development.

"The only concern here would be the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, both of which will likely age faster than the processing power of the chipset."

            Are you sure about that?

Probably they are buying the worse batches from Mediatek, those with some defects and disabled transistors. Then they sell them to you as a premium product with only good apareance but, as usual, with a bad display, bad camera, downclocked SoC, large notch... and overpriced, of course, buy a premium junk courtesy of Nokia and fool yourself.
