Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) review

One of the first phones with five cameras on board and, several months after the announcement, still the only one with four on the back – it’s the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018). We set out to discover how well the impressive specsheet translates into real world performance.

I just used my friend's A9, saw none of that purplish tinge. True, the photos were not up to the mark anyway, but atleast colours were normal. Maybe GSMA got a faulty version?

The battery is extremely mediocre and dual sim can be found in anything other than iPhones. All the "Pros" are meaningless compared to the competition in this price range, INCLUDING older Samsung models.

A9 is simply way too overpriced for what it's capable of, end of discussion.

          Pros
          -Excellent display all around. (Super AMOLED)
          -Very good battery life.
          -Powerful chipset, a ton of RAM, boatloads of storage and a dedicated microSD slot - it's hard to beat the A9 when it comes to the essentials. Looking at you, Galaxy A8s WITHOUT the 3.5mm jack as STANDARD!!
          -3.5mm jack as STANDARD
          -DualSIM
          -FM Radio
          -DEDICATED microsSD slot as STANDARD
          -Rear mounted FPS

              Compared to Huawei its sports 4 very weal cameras with really bad performance and a very high price and low battery.
              Well from company like Samsung we cant expect anything better.

                wow that's disappointingly awful output (purplish!) for a phone with four camera lenses. I wonder if it's a defect of the review unit you have? did you try getting it replaced by Samsung with another unit?

                  Guess what, they uses a small 1/2.8" sensor on its primary camera.

                  Well, other than the past Samsung Pixon series, i never knew Samsung for its camera quality, their camera (even on their flagship) are always bland, unimpressive with tiny sensor size, like iPhone.

                  I need that 1/1.22" Pixon M8800 comeback.

                    That purple tint-ish color kinda reminds me of Google Camera with HDR+, except that this is the hypertinted version of it.

                      Other than their flagship, their mid until low end are always overpriced and bad specced (for that price range).

                            WOW, another overpriced POS which is basically mediocre at everything. Battery, audio, even camera. Good for 300 euro at most.

                                For that price u can buy vanilla Mate 20, a huge gap in everything that this A9 can offer.

                                What a disaster mid range phone from Samsung.

                                  I guessed correctly. I wanted to read this review and read the same as I thought. This phone is overpriced even in the Samsung line-up. And the number 9, in the name of this phone, doesn’t affect positively in features, because this one lost one, important at this price point, and is WATERPROOFING. The A8’s ( the normal ones, 2018) actually have IP68, like it supposed to have. I mean, one of the important things that separates the Samsung midrange between the others, was the IP rating. I didn’t expect it to be in the A7, 7

                                        I'd never thought I would see such horrible quality photos from a camera phone in 2018, specially coming from Samsung, and at this price range…

                                        You can do better than this, Samsung, what happen?
