I just wonder why some basic and major functionalities have issues apprearing in their devices. Im pretty sure that they are testing their devices but i think not that well. I think their dev team is not doing unit and integration testing or their system test is just doing smoke testing because of the issues that were appearing. in other words i think theres something wrong in their process.
there is a quality quote that i can still recall way back college times: quality is expensive and beyond our means... but why apple? aw

Alex, 15 Feb 2019Nice to see a person with a common sense. (And manners. Bri... more"Apple's quality is still on top"

    Hahaha! What a comedian xD

Apple's got a lot of money, and they obviosly save a lot on testing as they clearly don't do much of it.

Lucky for your wife she got the 5S. Where the 5 was the public beta device and paint coming off by touching it, Scrathgate. How about getting her a ipad pro that comes bent even new in box? "It's not a fault, it's a result of it's design", said apple.

Typical. It's a design flaw and it's clear for everyone to see, as always. But no, not in Apple's eyes. Just like you're holding it wrong (iphone 4, another public beta device, antennagate). Not to mention that this new bendgate is a tribute to the iphone 6 plus and it's bend gate. But there was more, the 6 and 6 plus were, as typical for non-s devices, public betas so they had that wonderful touch disease.

Not to mention their wonderful map app, quality stuff. Sure. . .

Relating to your ongoing war no the cracked back of your Moto X4, iphone 3G and ipod had crackgate, and apple blamed it on the obese. Just wonderful. Yellowgate, slowgate, battery gate. And super slow chargers in the box still in 2019.

    Quality, hah!

Not sure which version of the Note 7 they compare, 3, 4 or 6GB. Typically the base model is tested.

What I do know is that as standard Xiaomi has very efficient RAM and battery management. Keeping a game running in the background is the opposite of that, but if one wants such thing, MIUI allows for it trough battery options. Just disable battery saver for tha game and/or app you want running in background.

Let those who deny the need for testing get what they deserve: being a guinea pig for companies that release hardware frankensteins every other month, making users test those creatures for their own money.
The manufacturing and testing experience that big companies have worth a lot. Not that lot like Apple or Samsung ask for, but still. Unfortunately, they all cutting on expenses now trying to compete with China.
Take Motorola: reasonable prices. And my old G3 was totally worth it. It's unfortunate that the quality went down the drain last year: my new X4 cracked without even being dropped. Same complaints for G6 and Z3. (Most likely the marketing decision, not the lack of testing.)
Samsung: I do consider A8 to be the best mid-range phone last year (got it for my wife and she is happy), but this year their quality is also very concerning, see the reviews.
Apple's quality is still on top: just prices make their phones worthless. (My wife loved her 5S: it never failed her.)
Example of the startup company with no experience? HMD (use "Nokia" name): just terrible, the worst phone I ever had. No one in my family could use this piece of junk.

It runs so fast in day to day tasks, I'm using the regular G7 with Snapdragon 632 and can't almost tell the difference from my Z2 Force with Snapdragon 835 and 6GB RAM. There is no lag. Best of all it's optimized for the Pixel 3 camera, everything works perfect.

Well is what a lot of chinese business do, they buy western companies and brands well known by the local citizens and then send the profits (money) to China, as the owner is there.

A don't care where the money goes if i want a product, but ask 300 euros for a SD636 and a depth secondary camera with a regular fingerprint sensor too is too much for me. I liked the G6 Plus, but now i'm looking other brands for some phone more appealing than these ones that have small battery too and even with low display resolution some of them and old SoC.

Motorola is based in the US. They design the smartphones in Brazil, software is made in the US very closely with Google (the Moto Z3 and Z2 Force recieved Google AR Emojis from the Pixel in their oficial camera app) they manufacture them in China, they test their devices back in their Chicago headquarters. There are plenty of internal documents mentioning that Motorola is a US based company, even if it's owned by Lenovo.

People need to stop looking at the processor only. It's an overall awesome package for 250€. Plus, no one beats Motorola when it comes to software optimizations and ridiculously awesome gestures.
The quality control is also way superior, there's way less chance for a Moto to brake if they fall from the same distance.
We disassemble and repair phones all day, me and my colleagues do this for a living. Built quality is way superior, not to mention Motorola supplies official parts to Mobile Defenders and iFixit so you can repair your phone without the hassle of bad Chinese replicas.
There is so much more into a phone than just the processor, and the G7 is just that.
If you don't like it, don't buy it, go buy a Xiaomi and stop complaining. Everyone I sold a Motorola smartphone to is way happier with the phone than with a Xiaomi, Samsung, Apple or Huawei.
