Motorola Moto G7 Plus review

18 February 2019
The Moto G lineup has come a long way since its first release in 2013. The original Moto G is still one of the most iconic handsets ever created as it jump-started a new era of mid-range smartphones. It was quite frankly the first budget phone that made sense with a fairly powerful SoC for the asking price, good battery life and clean, fast and clutter-free Android experience. But seven generations in, does the Moto G7 lineup still have it? Or the focus had shifted so much, it’s hard to recognize the new Motos, for better or worse?

Andy, 18 Feb 2019Endurance ratings of 59hrs and 66, both are way to low. G7 lasts me till I go to sleep (1am) with 2 sims, WhatsApp and WhatsApp business, loads of social networking and 4 emails (I run a business). I get around 5 hours screen on time every day.

So the only positive is really kind of stock Android and good camera.. screen and battery life and Snapdragon 636 is nothing special. And for that Motorola charges a premium price. Save 50 Euro and get a snapdragon 660 powered Asus Zenfone Max pro with 6 gb ram, eis camera and also almost stock android.. and better screen and 5000 !!! Milliamp battery.

If all I did with my phone was take pictures then, maybe i would look at this but i dont. For performance people this isnt the device. I mean at that price I get an SD 845 in either a poco f1 or add a little more and get a mi 8. I could even go and get a galaxy s8 for a little more money. Motorola started budget offerings. They have strayed from it because of too much change in leadership

It's official. Moto is dead. That battery life is embarrassing. It didn't take a genius to work out that a 3,000mah battery is way too small. If we're going to have screens over 6 inches then 3,500 needs to become the absolute minimum. Personally I'd like to see more 4,000mah and over

The only downside about this phone is battery life, it sucks. Hopefully they will do miracles with a software update since the Z3 Play uses the same processor, similar sized screen and scores a lot more than this.
They can brag about sales, they have a much bigger sales channel than Xiaomi, and the phone is compatible with all the bands in the world, US, Latin America, the entire Europe etc. They sold 85 million G6 devices, every 27 minutes someone activates a G6.

A wider variety of them and not an unuseful depth sensor. The most laughable as they comment in the review is that the night mode of the Redmi Note 7 is as good that even without OIS give equal results that this one but with higher resolution, if you add a better processor, better price, bigger battery, and with audio jack too plus FM Radio. The Redmi Note 7 is a winner. And that without count that soon we will have the "Pro" version in March and a Redmi X even better upcoming that will eat this one at similar price. So Redmi and Xiaomi can brag now a lot more that you comment.

And can brag of their sales too, something that these G7 phones will not compared with the Redmi-Xiaomi ones. So yes, the Motorola G7 are overpriced if we compare them. Lenovo has a better phones but no globally available. A with NO for these Lenovorolas and more with the few updates they bring and a single major one when arrives...
