Nokia 9 PureView review

05 April 2019
The Once and Future King of mobile photography - the PureView camera - is back! The Nokia's champion has lived through the twilights of Symbian and Windows Phone, to be once again reborn in the peak of Android era. HMD's Nokia 9 is the bearer of the next-gen PureView snapper, and it's not one, but whole six of them!

Namelesss, 05 Apr 2019What was the point of this phone? They should just stop pro... moreWell, that's why this phone is more of a "limited edition", isn't it?

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2019Yes you can refocus after taking a shot in editingNo you can't refocus after you take a photo. Since the DoF is so deep due to its minuscule sensor size, it makes it look like you can change the focus afterwards by changing the blur pattern around the area you have tapped.

The jpeg are awful. Worse than midranges

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2019Chuawei P30 no record FHD 60fps with EIS but only FHD 30fps... moreP30 supports EIS in all of FHD 30fps, 60fps and 4K video recording. Get your facts right.

F the camera, I want to see the phone's display visibility outdoors directly under the very bright sunlight and see if I can read out something

Man, I love it when my phone's screen remains visible even under the sun!

So you need extra software in order to get decent pictures

I mean with a bit of editing every pictures can look better, but to get P30 Auto quality you need some software srsly wtf

It's simple but it's a focus on quality. When done right it would shatter nikon canon sony big cameras.

Great idea, but need some improvement. Daylight raws has better detail than P30 Pro and IphoneX, but JPGS are much worse. Night photos looks bad. It has great potential, but on this moment need more work to be best camera. All photos should looks like from Adobe Lighroom.

A 845 is plenty powerful for most, but knowing how big and how much power the processing of the images was needed, it seems dumb not to wait for the 855. Bad move Nokia.

Sensor used by P20 Pro and P30 Pro are made just for Huawei.
All Snapdragon Galaxy S/Note have exclusive Exmor, new version every year.
Since iphone 5 the sensors of iphones are just for Apple.

With 5 rear cameras + ToF of course they had to use a smaller sensor .. No space enough for five 1/2.55" or 1/2.3".

If I was big boss at HMD I would pay Sony to make one RGB and mono both 1/1.8" 20MP instead of using 5 smaller ...

As I said before this is failure. It's came to late on the market. They have great ideas but can't realize in reality.Time is money today.
