It's fun how most competition is 6,4"+ and the p30 isn't, this is why I will get it I think. Had 6,4 before and really never been happy about it.

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2019propietary memory cards? Have they gone crazy or what... Agree. Where can you find the doggone things, and do you have to have the memory card in the phone to back it up or dump it?
As nice as this thing looks and despite the excellent review, my first instinct is that a proprietary memory card from China is a deal-breaker.

anonymousslovenia, 26 Jun 2019well in Slovenia the p30 is cheaper than xr and s10..xr is ... moreNot correct. In Slovenia p30 is for 609 eur on A1 carrier.
But overall it's a good phone, it just has sluggish EMUI so launcher is preferred.

Why doesn't anyone stress enough a serious problem with too quiet sound on videos? Whenever I try to play video files recorded on my P30 back on any other device, that is a PC or another smartphone, their sound level is very low, despite the volume turned up to 100%. Anyone else experienced that? The mics seem to be working OK, it's just the sound level of the recording that's terrible. On the P30 its own videos play back loud enough but only on it. On all the other devices they are way too quiet.

I had numerous flagship smartphones for the last 9 years and never ever had so many issue with any of them! So this fact talks for itself - Huawei Mate 20 Pro is an overpriced overrated piece of crap indeed. Sad but true. The only good things about it are the battery life, randomly good photos from versatile camera, screen resolution / brightness and unique back design. Everything else is sub-bar, not a flagship level. Now you can relax, keep buying Huawei phones and have a good the rest of the week!

VectorR, 28 Apr 2019There is nothing to laugh about! Heaps people complaining a... moreLol, ok, let me explain why "power button/volume button location problem" that you're claiming isn't a thing then. All people have differently shaped and sized hands and this makes it impossible to find the button locations that satisfy everyone. You can search up "Galaxy S9 accidental screenshot" or "iPhone XS accidental screenshot" and you can find tons of people complaining about it. Some Pixel users even claim that they accidentally put the phone to silent which frequently causes their phone to vibrate because of the shortcut that Google uses(Volume+ & Power button to set the phone to vibrate). I'm sorry that you experience the issue with it but that's not common across all the Mate 20 Pro users. That's why no reviewers put what you're saying in the "cons" section in their review - they simply don't have any problem with it.
"simple inability to unlock the phone at first-second attempts"
Face unlock? I've seen many people saying it's instantaneous.
"too long operator name"
Then hide it.
"no Google Feed out of the box"
Different launcher then? In some regions the default launcher comes with Google Feed which is accessible by swiping to the left.
"too many blurry, out of focus shots, bad selfies, horrible video quality at low light condition"
Sounds more like a user problem as for the first two, as I never got blurry photo even in low light condition with my P30. Sometimes it struggles to autofocus in a very close distance but that's simply because it uses larger sensor which deepens the depth of field and makes the focus harder, and tap-to-focus solves the issue perfectly. And for the moving objects so far I haven't got a single out-of-focus shot on P30 yet.
And just because you prefer more contrasty, more sharpened image from Pixel's selfie camera it doesn't make Mate's selfie camera crap. It's not the best, but still fairly good. Video quality should be on par with Note 9(which is fairly decent) in low light, so again, I don't know what you're really seeing.
I don't need any "luck" to use my phones normally. I have an ability to handle them properly, and my P30 and S10 are working just as I expected. Of course neither of them are perfect, but obviously I don't have problems that you do with your phones. I actually stop here because I find it extremely pointless to explain anything to you at this point. Enjoy the rest of your week.

VectorR, 28 Apr 2019No Huawei flagship phone worth its price. Overpriced rubbis... moreCould agree about mid range but I would say the same about Samsung... Flagship is definitely better be it in scores or in real life, you cannot fight sensor size and hdr of it's flagship with the same sensor as years before...
While giving at least something even if of low quality, it's better than not having any, still I would go for honor view20 if deciding between Huawei/honor, as it's output though from one sensor, is still original even if compared to flagships.
As for consistency, not sure what you mean, but as if there is perfect output, it's all about loses and gains.

Nick Tagataka, 28 Apr 2019"improper positioned Volume Down and Power buttons" Sorry ... moreThere is nothing to laugh about! Heaps people complaining about the same thing - tons of accidental screenshots in gallery. You just don't want accept the brutal truth - Mate 20 Pro is inferior to Pixel 3, Galaxy S10e and even to OnePlus 6T! Yes, I seriously pissed off by Huawei Mate 20 Pro since day one after switching from Pixel 3. Didn't expect such childish issues like simple inability to unlock the phone at first-second attempts, inferior speakers, tons of accidental screenshots, no notifications issue (due to "too long operator name" as I found out later), bloody hisearch window instead of notifications with swipe down gesture, no Google Feed out of the box, camera inconsistency (too many blurry, out of focus shots, bad selfies, horrible video quality at low light condition, "photoshopped" peoples faces even in pro mode...) etc etc. With all above-mentioned "small issues" this phone is rather upper mid-range than flagship. Worth $500 - $600, no more than that. So good luck with your P30 :) :) :)
