so I currently just updated my pixel 3 to this update and now I am stuck on the boot up logo for pixel... it wont even access anything, and I have tried a hard reset and still nothing... any advice?

Like, w... moreFrom what I heard so far, the "Xperia 4" name was based on rumors going on Esato Forum, one of few places where Sony fans gather to get news and rumors. And one of the reliable Sony leaker said "Xperia 4" could be the chosen name for the Compact lineup successor. I don't remember who leaked the Xperia 4 moniker, but I think it was Zackbucks. I also feel Xperia 4 name was chosen to make a bridge between Xperia 1/2 and Xperia 10/L3, from flagship to upper mid-range to mid-range and low-entry-level. And the specs itself, the rumor downgraded from SD 800 to SD 700 was already there since long ago, not long after Snapdragon 700 series was taken out of the box. Tho, the name for Xperia 4 that bridged between lineup is quite contradicting with their RX camera lineup that the Mobile has been using for awhile. Yup, once more, it's counterintuitive.

TheGoldenMellifluous, 28 May 2019I understand your confusion, but that's how the condition c... moreThe naming just seems very counterintuitive though. Like, why name it 4 if it'll be downgraded?

Walter C. Dornez, 28 May 2019That seems.......confusing. if that's true, then is the com... moreI understand your confusion, but that's how the condition currently at Sony Mobile at 2018 (and possibly 2019) right now, and as Sony mid-core fan, it needs 3-4 months to understand that. And for your second question, unless Sony Mobile Japan will eventually release the Xperia 4 somewhere in 2019 at earliest (though now rumored downgraded to SD 700 series instead usually SD 800 series; better than X Compact case), just like Xperia Ace for Japan and accompany Xperia Ace as Sony's option on Compact phones after XZ2C era, I think Sony (flagship) Compact lineup has ended tho. It's sad, yet the market went tough with big screens nowadays. But we'll see and try to be optimistic as possible for Sony Compact lineup (especially the-unknown Xperia 4).

TheGoldenMellifluous, 28 May 2019AFAIK Walter, unless Sony did something like the 'XZ2 Premi... moreThat seems.......confusing. if that's true, then is the compact line dead?

Walter C. Dornez, 28 May 2019True, but the Xperia 1 will be coming out say early June. T... moreAFAIK Walter, unless Sony did something like the 'XZ2 Premium and XZ3' condition where both started selling more less than 2 months differences and introduced around 4 months differences (XZ2P launched in April, start selling around July to August, XZ3 launched in August, start selling in September/October) and made differences between them such as less camera (2 vs 1), which was contradicting the first rumors where XZ3 should get 2 as well like XZ2P, but ended just one, and less market target approach area (XZ3 marketed in less area than XZ2P and way less than original XZ2 and XZ2 Compact), and other Sony methods that we didn't see yet, tho some rumors said XZ3 boosted Sony Mobile sales and sales bit better than XZ2P, Xperia 2 could cannibalize Xperia 1 IF the buyers thinks X2 has better than or same specs as X1, but much smaller, manageable, cheaper, etc, despite we haven't see any more detailed leak info about Xperia 2.

Tho I won't jump to conclusions yet as Xperia 2 is still an unreleased device for another 3-4 months and specs hasn't yet finalized, X2 could overdrive X1, except Sony going to do their last year condition take over again about Xperia 1 and 2 as stated above. But we'll see how things go.

P.S. All Sony flagship except Premium and Compact lineup, IFA Sony flagship is always better than MWC/CES Sony flagship (ex : XZ3 v XZ2, XZ1 v XZs, so on). Xperia 1 falls in Premium lineup, Xperia 2 falls in Sony Vanilla lineup, Unclear Xperia 4 should falls in Sony Compact lineup, tho no confirmation. So, Xperia 1 could have better specs than 2, just like XZP and XZ1, as well XZ2P and XZ3, so on)

TheGoldenMellifluous, 27 May 2019To be honest with you, as a Sony mid-core fan, it's hard to... moreTrue, but the Xperia 1 will be coming out say early June. Then 3 months later, we get a better version? With barely any change between the two? One of them would be cannibalized in sales, no?

Walter C. Dornez, 27 May 2019I see. Still, it feels kinda counterintuitive, doesn't it? ... moreTo be honest with you, as a Sony mid-core fan, it's hard to believe that Xperia 1 hasn't yet available globally, despite some markets like Sony's main focus market (HK and Taiwan) already getting them earlier and reviewers getting hands-on them (this website could get one too, but who knows?) . But if Sony did deliver its promise upon X1 from MWC 2019 after a long wait, especially camera-department, I think Xperia 1 could get attention, at least some if not all.

And just to let you know again and for others, although this explanation could be confusing, Xperia 2 isn't meant to replace Xperia 1 as most people thought, but rather XZ3, tho we haven't got any confirmation so far. Why I did say that? Because of Xperia 1 and Xperia XZ2 Premium has similar specs inline, around 60-70% similarities, including the signature 4K HDR screen. Even some websites said it (including this site on MWC coverage on Xperia 1). Meanwhile, we haven't got XZ3 true successor for now, and XZ3 is still on sale, for now, and XZ3 still being advertised on Sony Xperia Instagram account, tho not as usual when XZ3 was launched, and Xperia 2 could be the one, with a triple-cam setup as standard, while XZ3 has one. Upgraded just like XZ2P to X1, from 2 to 3 cameras. Some UAProf existed once like "2880x1234p", then >3000ish mAh battery, etc, confirming XZ3's successor and X2's appearance. The other detailed specs tho, no confirmation for now.

This confusion could have been since Sony new lineup name and strategies change inside Mobile division under Kimio Maki's leadership and Kenichiro Yoshida's as CEO. So unless Sony stated otherwise during IFA, Xperia 2 is the true replacement of XZ3 while Xperia 1 is the spiritual successor of Xperia XZ2 Premium (just like in 2016, when Xperia X Performance was thought to be Xperia Z5 successor, but in the end, Xperia XZ was the chosen one. This situation is similar). The explanation is very complex tbh, but that's what I can think of. Sure, it's counterintuitive, but 6-month flagship cycle is common now everywhere, with different methods (Samsung: S (Q1), Note (Q3), OnePlus: Normal (Q2), T (Q4),etc.). Hope you understand.

TheGoldenMellifluous, 26 May 2019Yup, XZ3 did it too. And yes again, there's pointing to yes... moreI see. Still, it feels kinda counterintuitive, doesn't it? I mean, the Xperia 1 isn't even out yet and we're getting a 2nd one?

Walter C. Dornez, 26 May 2019And then there was the XZ3 with Pie outta the box. Maybe we... moreYup, XZ3 did it too. And yes again, there's pointing to yes about we're about to see Xperia 2 launch at IFA this Q3 with big probability to launch with Android 10 Q out of the box (just to clarify, XZ4 name was considered to be XZ3's successor in development of Sony's Q1 flagship for almost a year before Kimio Maki decided to cancel it and scratch from zero for the development for a new phone that delivered to satisfy both fans and media, now known as Xperia 1. So XZ4 name will not be chosen for Sony's Q3 2019 flagship certainly).

TheGoldenMellifluous, 25 May 2019Well, all Sony late-year (Q3-Q4) flagships always announced... moreAnd then there was the XZ3 with Pie outta the box. Maybe we'll either see an Xperia 2 or XZ4 in IFA?

Zero, 24 May 2019Literally ending on the same ship as Huawei?I mean maybe. If Huawei acts fast though they could update a few of their devices before the ban is reinstated. (I think, I don't know the complete details of this) I know for a fact LG won't be updating my phone tho.

There is nothing new here that I have never experienced before. I've been using gestures from Nova Launcher Prime and All-In-One Gesture app for years. With Android Q, that's really it. New gestures and dark mode. Big whoop!

I will stick to Pie. I got rid of my drawer to prevent that awkward longer press to bring it up. And Pie for me has been fantastic for both my Essential Phone and Pixel 3. My first name starts with the letter P anyway and Pie is my favorite dessert when I'm with a woman.

                                  :-P

Walter C. Dornez, 24 May 2019If it's released in IFA, then yesWell, all Sony late-year (Q3-Q4) flagships always announced IFA (From 2012 Xperia T/Tx to 2018 Xperia XZ3), so there are high hopes for Sony Mobile to launch a late-year Xperia with the latest Android (this year as Android 10 Q). Though, the trend for Sony just started not too long ago with the XZ1 being the first (shipped with Oreo instead of Nougat)

There is no reason... moreAll of the android names are sweet so I think that they will continue with this especially when there is some options. The most obvious optiond are Quindim (a brazilian dessert) and quality street(just like what they did with kitkat and oreo) I think that this name will give a lot of nostalgia to some people (especially old ones)
                                      I personally prefer this name
There is also qurabiya, queijadas and quince jam
