COME ON, YOU rate tie in software and performance, beside Sony is beter benchmark, more fluid and superb clean software against Samsung's heavy far from good software.
P.S. Samsung have 4K 60/fps but you forget to write that Sony only in the world have 4K HDR recording.

Anonymous, 17 Jun 2019The S10+ is overall a much better choice. I beg to differ. There are many little irritating details about how Samsung handles software and treats customers that don't get much coverage in the press; e.g. how cheap and superfluous it is to have two assistants in a phone, how inconsistent the icons look in comparison to Android's native Material Design (so two UX designs in one phone), how you need two accounts (one Google and one Samsung) to operate the phone in its entirety. I had a really nasty experience with my Samsung recently, when I discovered that, when you start the process of creating a Samsung account, it tries to trick you into giving up your private data by serving you with a terms and conditions button that appears by design to be compulsory without actually being so. I cannot even imagine how many people have fallen in this trap. Very poor treatment from a company of this size.
Sony works pretty much like a Pixel phone, the updates are fast, the UX design consistent and you just have to subscribe to your Google account. There are no Sony accounts that you'll need for the phone. Even double apps like media apps are better thought through, because they are there to just emphasize that your phone is a Sony, thus focused on entertainment; they are much more of a hardware based app suit instead of the cloud based Google music and movies. I hardly call this bloatware.

Note to Sony: Donald Trump might put you on a U.S. banned list if you don't add 802.11 ax / WiFi 6 in your next flagship sold in the states.

This matchup is unfair. Samsung is better in almost everything.
I don't know why GSM Arena still conciders Sony Xperia's as a flagship phone?
Samsung, Apple and a bunch of amazing Chinese phones are flagship grade today. Sony, LG, HTC, Blackberry, Nokia, Motorola etc. are midrange at best. Failed companies.
Just look at this funny Xperia 1...looks worse even compared to original Xperia Z.

Samsung wins: 1. Screen, 2. Battery life, Audio quality, 4. Camera (including selfies and portrait), 5. Video recording
Sony wins: ---- ZERO ----

So in few words - S10+ destroyed 'sorry exuse for a smartphone' Xperia 1.
Sony is dated, dull and a bit pathetic.

Objectively speaking Sony Xperia 1 is alot better, although I do not believe it will be recognized as such because the Sony hating base is kinda large.
I do have 2 Samsung TVs and 3 Samsung phones at home, so No, I am not a Samsung hater.

imparanoic, 17 Jun 2019S10 only support Bluetooth 5, but Sony xperia 1 support thi... moreSony allowed Google to insert LDAC on Android. Any phone with Android 8 or 9 cant take advantage of it, as long user has one of the supported Sony headphones. Not all have LDAC.
Regular user wont notice difference between wired and wireless quality, that is why all phones are losing the jack lately.

Chip, 17 Jun 2019It's a bit unfair. The 1 just hit the shelves, the S is on ... moreWhile the argument could be made that the S10 has had more time to improve, a lot of it's advantages are simply hardware advantages

S10 only support Bluetooth 5, but Sony xperia 1 support this as well as ldac and aptx hd, therefore, all the high bitrate wireless Audio codecs

If Sony had kept the 1/2.3" 19MP they would do better.
At least they dont provide artificial photos like Samsung, Apple and Google.

AnonD-731363, 17 Jun 2019Well Redmi K20 will be winner cost 2/3 less price and offer... moreK20 Pro costs much less because it costs much less to be made.
Just the components of these two cost more than K20 Pro retail price.
This is not about Xiaomi doing charity by charging less than other.
Look at One Plus 7 Pro. Price increased as they started to pack better stuff.
Everything these two have cost more compared to Redmi. Except cpu and cameras K20 Pro is not more than Samsung A70.

AnonD-731363, 17 Jun 2019Well Redmi K20 will be winner cost 2/3 less price and offer... moreWhile K20 Pro is very good in it's league, it is nowhere close to the quality of a premium tier flagship like the other two.
And even if we ignore the class tier, K20 Pro is still far from a ideal flagship. It has No Gorilla Glass 6, Only 1080p display, No SD slot, Camera performance not on par with the other two, No stereo speakers, No USB 3.1, No IP certification, Etc.
I'm not discrediting these budget flagships, I'm merely saying we shouldn't undervalue premium flagships. They have their ups & downs.

I think Xperia wins overall in Camera its just that the Galaxy has better dynamic range (just that) and for sure Sony will update the Xperia 1 with 'Night Mode'.
I prefer Natural colors over the overstaurated colors too. And yes I agree it sometimes more appealing to look at but saturated photos are hard to edit..
